Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean digging into factory wires. This Curt T-Connector plugs right into the factory tow package connector to create a working 4-pole flat trailer plug. No splicing or wire tracing—just connect it and it’s ready for lights.
Once installed, the harness gives you a standard 4-flat output for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s the basic hookup most small and mid-size trailers use, making it easy to connect and go.
This harness ties directly into the existing factory tow package port near the frame rail, keeping the setup neat and avoiding extra drilling or loose wires. It’s a simple way to make use of what’s already built into the vehicle.
If you decide to add electric trailer brakes or charge a trailer battery later, this 4-way setup can be converted to a 7-way using an adapter kit like part #ETBC7. That makes it a solid first step toward a full towing setup without needing to redo the wiring down the road.

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Curt Custom Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four way flat trailer connector for your factory tow package. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2001 to 2002 Toyota Tundra trucks with the factory tow package. On a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year, model, vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this will provide this four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights.
It is designed for use with a factory tow package, and it is compatible with the five pole, six pole, and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately. To install this, it does connect very quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing of wires. Basically, the tow harness, which is this part here, has the four way on it. This will plug into a connection point that's behind the rear bumper along the passenger side frame rail.
That connector will match this one. Plug it in, and then you'll run your four way out the back. Now, what you also want to do is this module box here. It is a little heavy, so you do want to attach that to a location on nice flat surface so it doesn't bounce around. So, they do include a piece of double face tape that you can use to do that. Now, the harness right here, this harness has a fuse holder in it, and it'll plug into a connector that's under the hood located between the battery and the driver's side fender.
It'll match this connector right here. Once you plug that in, then what you'll do is take this ring terminal end, attach that to the positive battery terminal. Once that's all connected, then you open up your fuse holder, take your included 10 amp fuse, install it into the fuse holder. Once you have that fuse installed, put your cap back on, and you're all ready to go.Now, they do give you a nice set of instructions that'll describe these connections and some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring. Now, this module right here, this is a powered module.
It'll connect directly to your vehicle's battery, and it avoids overloading your vehicle's electrical system. This is constructed using the SMT, which is Surface Mount Technology. Gives you a consistent, reliable performance. It does maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and it also ensures superior operation in rough road condition. Also, if you noticed on the four way, it does come with this included dust cover for your four way, so when you're not plugged into your trailer, you can just put this on there and that'll protect the terminals from any damage or from the elements.A few specs on this wiring harness. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuit is three amps per circuit, and for the tail lights, it's six amps per circuit, but that should do it for the review on this Curt Custom Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four way flat trailer connector for the factory tow package.

Plugged in to factory wiring and works great
Super easy to install, follow the given instructions, took maybe 10minutes to complete for my 02 tundra!
Works great as a replacement for the failing factory converter in my 2001 Tundra. Down one star for the double-stick tape failing, but now it's tie wrapped and all is well.
Did not match my 2002 Tundra wiring harness. Harness Plug was way too large for the cubicles stock harness
Purchase was easy and delivery was on time, very nice people to deal wait..
Part fit perfectly. Tk you for checking back with me…will buy from etrailer again

Sorry to hear that, Duff. Little surprised it didn't fit. Curt does their homework with this kind of thing and there are typically no issues with their fits. Did you find an alternate solution? Oh and would you like me to get you a return label started?
