Expert Reply:
The light-duty Class I hitch # C11400 is a confirmed fit on the GT Hatchback version of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra.
We have not had a local customer come in for an install of this particular hitch on your particular vehicle so we do not have the hitch-pin-to-bumper-cover dimension we always provide once we've done an install here at etrailer.
I checked with the technical team at Curt and while they confirmed the fit of this hitch on the car they too did not have the dimension available. I also checked with Draw-Tite concerning their hitch part # 24905 and this same dimension. They have not installed one on site but were able to estimate the dimension as 6-inches.
We do have a customer who sent a photo of the Curt hitch installed on their car and while this does not have dimensions it does give at least a general sense of how much clearance there needs to be for a hitch-mounted accessory such as a Class I-compatible bike rack like the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670. This rack provides 8-inches of clearance.
I cannot be 100-percent certain but based on the photo it appears that the hitch pin hole is approximately 6-inches forward of the rear edge of the bumper cover. Since this is consistent with the estimate from Draw-Tite I think you can be reasonably certain that the 6-inch figure is very close to actual.
