Wiring up a trailer can be stressful when you have to cut into factory wiring, but this harness makes it simple. The Curt T-Connector plugs inline right behind each tail light, giving you a 4-flat trailer connector without any splicing. It uses factory-style connectors that snap together cleanly for a secure fit and a professional look.
The powered converter connects between the tail light wiring and the trailer plug to keep the vehicle’s electrical system protected. A single ground wire secures to the vehicle body, and one power wire runs to the battery through an included fuse holder. The fuse and holder are part of the kit, so all the key pieces for a safe, complete circuit are already there.
Running power to the battery can sound tricky, but this design keeps it clean. You can route the wire through an existing grommet under the spare tire well or along the underside of the vehicle. It’s fine to run it underneath—just follow existing factory wiring and secure it with zip ties away from anything hot or moving.
Once installed, the 4-flat connector handles all your essential trailer lighting—running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s the standard connection for most small and medium trailers, so you’re ready to tow as soon as you plug it in.

Harness fits 2020 Huyndai Ioniq plug-in hybrid.
Wiring went in super easy. The only issue was in running the +12 volt line the whole length of the car. I had to remove and reinstall a lot of trim.

Used my rear power outlet for 12v to power control box. Works great.
The electrical kit went in straight forward. It's a little odd that they use a black wire as a positive. The plug and play made connecting very easy. Had more issues popping the trim tabs than anything else.
Worked with Carmel, she made ordering my hitch and accy's easy and quick.
Speaking of quick she told me that she would place the order and that it should go out within 4 working days. I received my complete order within 3 days. Now that was fast.
If you need a hitch get it from etrailer, one stop shopping!
Rather than go below the car, I chose to run the 12 volt feed wire along the inside driver side door trim panels and take it through the firewall where the hood latch cable exits the driver cabin.
The 2018 Ioniq moved the engine battery next to the hybrid battery so I had a friend hold a screwdriver against the battery cable while I loosened the nut and slipped the controller terminal on the post.
This wiring kit worked very well. The directions were clear and I was able to install it in less than an hour. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I would be happier if It didn't need a connection to the car battery. Most harnesses I have installed get their power from the vehicle wiring harness alone.
My ebike blocks my tail lights so i figured I'd put some magnetic lights on the truck lid
The harness was straight forward & easy to install. Running the wire to the battery was the only thing that slowed it down abit.
Plugged in great but running the wire from the back of the car to the front was a PITA.
Finally finished installation of the trailer wiring kit. The kit goes together really easy and is a quick install with the exception of the battery wiring. Hyundai did not make it easy. I went through an existing grommet in the rear passenger side (underneath the tray) and then routed it along a wireway on the bottom of the car on the drivers side using the zip ties provided in the kit. I couldn't get the wireway apart so I ended up just loosening it up and tucking the wire in using the blade of a screwdriver. Pulled it up through the engine compartment using a short piece of fishtape and crimped everything together. Kit works great and is holding up well (100+ miles already).
The installation was pretty straightforward. Unscrew some interior panels and plug and play the T connectors into the existing wiring harness. The biggest hurdle was routing the power cable to the battery. I couldn't find a spot to feed from the cabin into the engine bay so I opted for routing it through the bottom of the car. Fortunately there's 2 drain holes under the spare tire that are great for feeding it outside. Then I undid the underbody panel that runs along the length of the car on the driver's side and ran the cable through there. After that I routed it upwards through the engine bay and on the battery. The only big negative was the crimp connectors sucked and didnt hold very well. My battery also has a plastic cover over the terminal that you hook up the cable to so I had to cut a slot in it so it could close properly. Fortunately the wiring works and all my trailer lights correspond well.

The plug and play is super easy to install. Directions were good. The photos were too dark. The sticky pad for the black box could be a touch thicker to better adhere to contours in the metal. Excellent product
Easy-to-follow instructions, adequate lengths. Hardest part is fishing the wire through and securing along the way. Fastest electrical work I've done on a vehicle.
My trailer harness does not fit, it has 6 prongs and my vehicle has 4.

Sometimes finding the right connector can be tricky. I wanted to confirm that you have the Hybrid Blue version of the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq?
i asked if this would fit my vehicle and was assured it would but this harness is not for my vehicle trim specification and now needs to be returned. i specifically asked if this harness would work for my trim Hyundai and extremely disappointed to find out i was misguided
