Why Will Trailer Hitches Not Fit the Korean Made Hyundai Elantra GT

Question:

Id like to buy a Draw-Tite #24905 for my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT but your instructions say it will not fit vehicles made in Korea. My dealer tells me that ALL Elantra GTs are made in Korea. If all Elantra GTs are made in Korea and the Draw-Tite 24905 wont fit vehicles made in Korea, why advertise the Draw-Tite #24905 as applicable to the 2013?Elantra GT?

Hyundai is a South Korean vehicle manufacturer, but not all of their vehicles, including the Elantra GT are made in South Korea. The 2013 Elantra GT was made in South Korea, Czech Republic and Egypt. The GTs coming out of the South Korean plant did not have the necessary mounting holes drilled into the frame so the trailer hitch manufacturers decided not to test their trailer hitches on those models.

The GTs coming from the Czech Republic and Egypt plants had the holes pre-drilled, so companies like Draw-Tite, Curt and Hidden Hitch were able to test and confirm that their trailer hitches will fit. It may be possible that the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24905, will fit the Korean made models, but the holes would have to be drilled out and the trailer hitch manufacturers have not confirmed the fit so they list it as a no fit.
