Installing a Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2007 Ford F-150 with No Factory Connector

I have a 2007 Ford F 150 that I would like to add a 4 pin or 7 pin connector to run lights to a trailer. The truck did not come with a factory tow package. I see that you carry an upgrade kit for a 2004 F 150 #118247 but not 2006-2008. What are my options to install a trailer wiring harness to my 2007 F 150

The 2007 Ford F-150 either came equipped, from the factory, with a 7-way trailer connector or none at all. Since you don't have a trailer connector at all on yours you'll need to start by adding a 4-way connector like the Hopkins Plug-N-Tow, part # 40185. It plugs right into the truck's wiring behind the rear bumper.
If the trailer you'll be towing has brakes, or you just want the 7-way to be fully functioning, you can then use our adapter kit, part # ETBC7, to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. This kit includes everything you need to make the 7-way fully functional, including all the wiring to install an electric brake controller, so you choose. I've linked an install video on a new F-150 but the process will be the same.
If you also need a brake controller I recommend the Prodigy P3, part # 90195, with the wiring adapter, part # 3035-P. I've linked this install on a 2005 Ford as well.
If you don't need the 7-way to have any functions other than just lights then you can use the adapter, part # 37185, which will provide you with 4-way and 7-way connectors at the rear of your truck. The extra wires can just be capped off.
