Armored LED Clearance Light # 424000 Recommendation for a 2007 Jumping Jack Trailer

Updated 06/02/2011 | Published 05/31/2011

Question:

I need to replace two broken trailer lights, that are about 2x 2.75. MCL36ab looks like it will work, or the equivelent size. Two questions. The ones I have now are incandescent, with one wire. The LED ones have two wires. Is this a big deal? How do I connect a two wire with existing one wire. Also, do you have rock guards to protect such lights? Jumping Jack Trailer 2007 model

The reason some lights have two wires and others only have one wire is because some lights ground through the mounting studs (one wire lights) while other lights have two wires, a power wire and a ground wire.

If your old lights were one wire lights and you wanted to use a Square LED Trailer Clearance, part # MCL36AB, you could run the ground wire to the mounting stud for the light and you would be good to go.

We do not sell rock guards for the # MCL36AB, but we do sell armored clearance lights like the Peterson Steel Armored Amber Clearance and Side Marker Light, part # 424000.
