The shanks included with most weight distribution systems, such as part # EQ90-02-4400, use standardized hole sizes and hole spacing for the vertical portion to which the weight distribution head assembly attaches. The other (horizontal) part of the shank that fits into the vehicle hitch receiver opening can be either 2 x 2-inches like part # EQ90-02-4400 that you referenced or 2-1/2- x 2-1/2-inches as with part # EQ90-02-4900.
The head portion of these systems all use the same mounting dimensions so if you were to change vehicles from one with a 2-inch hitch to one with a 2-1/2-inch hitch all you would need to do is replace the shank component. The rest of the system will still be usable on the new shank.
