Hopkins part # HM47180 is a 4-pole-to-7-way wiring adapter that is equivalent to the similar # 37185. The only real functional difference between them is that on part # 37185 the 4-pole trailer connector is located to the side of the 7-way, rather than under it as with # HM47180.
Both adapters plug in at an existing 4-pole vehicle connector and re-format those lighting signals to the 7-way configuration. The 7-way can be wired, if desired, to add new functions by using the included pigtail leads. The usual additional circuits carried on a 7-way that are not carried on a 4-pole are 12V auxiliary trailer power, trailer braking power and reverse lights.
The linked article shows you all types of trailer wiring formats.

I'm planning to buy a Jayco Hummingbird travel trailer but my 2015 Honda Pilot EX-L is not equipped with a towing harness. Can you please advise me on what is the most appropriate towing harness that I need to purchase and install? Thank you.
