Question:
I have purchased the t connector for a 2013 Subaru and it is not working properly . When plugged into the trailer the lights are on and the brake lights work when brakes are pressed, but when blinker left or right or hazards are put on nothing happens. I have tested the trailer multiple times switching back from the subaru to the truck and everything works fine with the truck . Please help could it be a box error. Thanks

You can test Curt trailer wiring harness # 56061 on your 2013 Subaru Impreza to determine if the converter is faulty. The first step is to test the wires leading into the converter box from the vehicle using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter if you have one. Have someone sit in the vehicle and go through the lighting functions while testing the input wires on the converter.
If everything works as normal on the input side, then move on to testing the output side (4-Way end). But if the input side is not correct then that indicates a problem on the vehicle side; potentially a broken or bent pin where the wiring harness plugs into the vehicle tail light connectors.
If the input side is good but the output side is not, then that indicates a problem inside the converter and the whole wiring harness will need to be replaced.
Also make sure that the wiring harness white wire is grounded to a clean bare metal surface because a weak ground could cause this and other problems. I have linked a video that will also help.
