Question:
I have acquired a small jet ski trailer with 16.5x6.5-8 with 4 bolt pattern. The tires are dry rotted and need replacement. Is it possible to fit new 18.5x8.5-8 tire/wheel combo?

In order to account for the new tire and wheel size, you will want to take a few measurements. A 16.5 x 6.5 - 8 wheel is 5.3" wide with an overall height of 16.5". A 18.5 x 8.5 - 8 wheel is 7" wide with an overall height of 18.3". Therefore, the 18.5 x 8.5 - 8 setup will be 1.6" wider and 1.8" taller than the 16.5 x 6.5 - 8 setup. Please note that you will want to allow for 4.5" of clearance between the top of the tire and the bottom edge of the fender for proper suspension travel.
If the larger wheel is compatible with your trailer, I recommend using the Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM3H290. If the larger wheel will not fit the trailer, I recommend using the Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM3H200. Both tires are equipped with a 2 warranty and have a load range C rating.
I have attached a video review on each wheel and tire combo for you.
