Where to Measure on Trailer Spindles to Determine Replacement Hubs

Question:

Can you tell me where I should take the measurements on the spindle to determine what hubs I need.It is a 3500lb trailer axle. I want to replace the 2 hubs. The inner bearing is L68149 and the outer is LM12749. These bearings are from a brake rotor on the trailer even though the trailer doesnt have brakes, thus the reason why I want to switch over to hubs. Thanks for your help.

You will need to measure the diameter of the spindles where the seal and bearings ride. Check out the picture I attached that shows where this is. You will need an exact measurement so either a digital or dial caliper will be needed.

To pick out the correct hubs you will also need to determine the bolt pattern of the hubs you currently have so that the new ones will be compatible with your current hubs. I attached an FAQ on how to determine this.

If you get back to me with that information I will help you pick out the right hub assemblies. Or, you can follow the link I attached that will take you to the page that has all of our replacement hubs.

You would want to first select the bolt pattern that you have, next select the inner bearing you have, followed by selecting your outer bearing, and then all the correct hubs will be listed.

@EricH E is diameter of spindle where threads are, A is diameter of spindle that inserts into the axle, and F is length of spindle where it installs into axle and gets welded. For the purpose of picking out replacement components though those dimensions aren't really needed.

Hello, Would you be able to help me select the correct hub for my trailer? old wheel size: R15 Stud pattern: 5 on 4.5" Spindle Grease seal diameter: 1.63" (1" 5/8) or 4.1cm spindle inner race diameter: 1.25" or 3.2cm Sindle outer race diameter: .75" or 1.9cm And could you help with the correct bearing sizes? - My old bearings I pulled off my trailer: outer bearing- #09067 Tyson, inner bearing- #15123 Tyson Thank you for your time! @MattM I really wish we could help but we don't have anything that matches the 09067 bearing as that's pretty old and not a current standard. Typically in these situations only option is a new axle.
