I want to purchase two load range D tires for my trailer. The size is 165/65-8. Are they available or must I settle for load range C? Is like two tires

I may have a potential solution for you, but the tire size 165/65-8 is only available in load range C. To step up in load range, you will have to switch to tire size 215/60-8 Tire and Wheel # AM3H325 or 5.70-8 # AM30155 which are both slightly larger in diameter by about 1-1/2 inch and the 215/60-8 tire # AM3H325 is about 2 inches wider while the 5.70-8 tire # AM30155 is about 1/2 inch narrower.

With the size difference, you will just need to make sure you have the clearance available in your fender well to accommodate the size difference. These tires will sit about 3/4 inch closer to the fender and the 215/60-8 tire # AM3H325 will sit about 1 inch closer to the inside wall of the trailer or trailer frame.

Here are the load rating of each tire for you to compare as well

165/65-8 Tire # AM3H220 - 800 lbs at 70 psi
215/60-8 Tire # AM3H325 - 1,165 lbs at 70 psi
5.70-8 Tire # AM30155 - 1,075 lbs at 100 psi

Each of these tire sizes require a different size wheel, so we can't just replace the tire, but this is your best option for upgrading your tire's load rating.
