Installation Of Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver On 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab

Question:

The instructions link on this page currently says you need a 18mm socket but all the bolts pictured in the drawing are documented as 12mm. The torque spec is documented for the 12mm bolts. My rusted out factory trailer hitch is attached with 17mm bolts, not 12mm, not 18mm. Should the installation doc say 17mm to utilize the nuts on the frame? I have a 2006 Tundra Double Cab

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75105 is a confirmed fit for 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra models with or without factory towable bumper. It is very possible that the manufacturer used different nut and bolt sizes on different models. I recommend using new hardware for your hitch that matches the welded nut or use the hardware that comes with the hitch if the hardware is compatible. I've attached a video to assist. You will still torque to the specified foot lbs of the instructions.
