Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD for Fifth Wheel Compatibility

Question:
I have the draw Tite round turn over ball in my 03 duramax 6 1/2 foot box. I need to mount an adaptor plate that connects to my draw Tite hitch that will give me the rails. I need to install a slider style 5th wheel hitch. The draw tite 9480 will not work in my short bed as it will not give me the correct clearance needed to turn properly. Any help or fabrication advice would be great. Thank you.

Only solution we'd have is to remove the gooseneck hitch and install a B and W gooseneck part # BWGNRK1067 so that you could use the Companion slider part # BWRVK3400.
