This Curt Double Lock gooseneck hitch is ready for serious towing duty with a 30,000-lb gross towing weight and 7,500-lb vertical load rating. The dual-pin locking system keeps the chrome-plated 2-5/16" ball solid and secure when you’re pulling heavy equipment, livestock, or big fifth-wheel conversions. It’s built from durable, black powder-coated steel and includes Grade 8 hardware for a dependable connection every time you hook up.
Once you’ve parked the trailer, flip the 2-5/16" ball upside down in the hitch to get your bed space back. The flip-over design keeps the ball safely stored inside the hitch so your bed stays flat and usable. A rubber cover goes over the ball hole to keep out dirt and grime while you’re hauling other gear or loading up the bed for work.
The double lock design uses two locking pins instead of one for extra security while towing. The comfort-grip handle mounts inside the wheel well so you can easily pull to unlock or rotate to secure the ball from the side of the truck. The chrome ring around the ball opening gives a tight, low-profile fit, while built-in safety chain hookups are ready whenever you are.
The included installation kit uses custom mounting brackets and Grade 8 hardware for a solid fit that doesn’t require any welding. You’ll need a 4" hole in the bed for the hitch ball, but everything else bolts into place cleanly. If you want more flexibility later, an adapter plate (C16210 – sold separately) lets you tow fifth wheels, and an offset hitch ball (C602 – sold separately) gives extra clearance between truck cab and trailer.

Wow, what can I say, this is an extremely solid, well built unit.
I knew it was about 90 pound, but when you take it out of the boxes the quality really hits you. Everything fits just as it is supposed to. The bolts are all Grade 8, and when you get everything torqued you know this unit is truly part of the truck frame.
Maybe a little over kill for our 5500# Escape 5.0 TA, but I wanted that confidence while connected, and I got it.
Coupled this with the Anderson Ultimate Hitch in Black Out and couldn't be happier.
Quick shipping and good price.. only problem is the one box arrived with one end open. Seed more tape or banding. Hopefully it is not missing anything
Got this for our new camper last year. Did the installation myself with a few buddies very straight forward directions. We use a Reese goose box with the curt 4” off set ball on our 08 short bed truck! Would definitely recommend
Great product and perfect fit for my 2005 GMC Sierra duramax. I just purchased a Montana fifth wheel and wanted to still be able to use the bed of the truck without taking a heavy hitch in and out and breaking my back. The hitch arrived really fast and the boxes were in pretty good shape and I was only missing one washer from a torn parts bag. I was able to install the hitch that weekend with help of the directions and how to YouTube video. The only issue I had was that the video stated the crossbar with the notch went to the rear while the directions showed it going to the front. It definitely goes to the front and was pretty obvious when installing it. I didn’t have any real issues with the install and it looks great and hides away nicely leaving a clean flat bed. I look forward to hauling my fifth wheel real soon.
The supplied mounting brackets didn't line up with anything on the frame. I had to modify the entire kit. I fo however like the locking mechanism.
A well-designed, high-quality gooseneck hitch kit, that I probably could have installed myself if I would have had a hydraulic lift available. The installation video was very well done.
After reading through the installation manual, thank you so much for the video. I used that as a reference while reading. Not sure I would have understood everything if that hadn’t been available.
This was so much harder to install than I was led to believe! Because I have air bags on my truck which your install info didn’t even address!

seems like a good hitch, the handle to release ball was 3 inches to short had to lengthen, also had to add spacers on rear support as not to draw center forward to far

good product. took five hours to install. Pictures could have been better as the light in the picture was not good. black and white did not have good detail. small issue that was over come for putting one in for the first time.
once everything was figured out where it was to be placed it went well. I put it in a 2014 dodge ram 1500 only hang up I had was with torqueing the bolts next to the gas tank which is not either ones issue. hauled my four horse trailer the morning after and everything held and road smooth. ball is easy to remove and flip and easy to grease as well. All material provided fit as it should and thread on as it should. I save about two hundred dollars with this curt kit. I am very happy about the purchase.
We have 2 Dodge Ram pickups in the family and this is the second one that we have bought. Installed ourselves with the good instructions and works great. Like the idea of removable ball to achieve a flat storage area in bed of pickup, when not towing. Have pulled fifth wheel camper plus a boat with no problems.
Great product w great instructions. It was an affordable package that installed decently. We have used the hitch for a year now and have had zero issues w it.
The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because the cross bars that go between the frame rails needed to have the threaded holes chased w a tap to remove the powder coating prior to installation. I initially tried installing it without chasing the threads and the bolts started to get very tight before the parts even pulled together.
Once the threads were clean, everything assembled very well.
The hitch takes time to install, at least if you want it to look good and be correct.
On a 1500 ram, you will probably need to install some form of helper spring or air bags to prevent the rear from squatting from the weight of the gooseneck trailer…the factory 1500 coil springs are not firm enough on their own.
Ordered this after deciding to go with it over a B&W kit due to me not using it a whole lot and the price difference. When I received the package 1/2 the hardware was missing because the inner box it was in was all broke apart and the outer box was not sealed up. So I would have to give the packaging and shipping one star because I had to go spend an extra $75 on grade 8 hardware. The paper directions were not totally clear on several thing so we resorted to the video which helped a lot. The two large carriage bolts that go in the rear cross member are a little deceiving because the video makes it seem like they slip right in. However, the heads were larger than the pass through in the frame rails so it took quite a bit of extra time and ingenuity to get those fished through there with the plates.(The carriage bolts survived shipping so they were what came with the kit). In the video it showed where he cut a large u out of the inner fender to clear the pull handle and notched the bed that looked kind of sloppy. With a few extra measurements you can just cut a hole in both for handle to slide through and give it a much cleaner look. Definitely recommend putting a bolt through receiver holes and using a strap to hold up center plate through hole in bed after you get it into place. Makes life a lot easier until you get the bolt ls in. Overall this hitch works and functions great. Install went pretty smooth with two people and I would recommend it to anyone needing a hitch.

Still 100 accurate review a year later. This was a nice hitch w good instructions. We have used it many times and have had zero issues w it. The wiring kit we installed inside the bed worked out really nice too. Everything took the better part of the day to install, this isn’t a 1 hour install. I keep 30 psi in the airlift coil spring bags and the truck doesn’t even have any rear sag. Id definitely recommend it again.
