Ernest, I completely understand why you are asking before ordering because once you get into the heavier #13 Torflex axle setups, a wrong fit can turn into a frustrating and expensive project pretty quickly.

Dexter does not currently offer a standardized Torflex lift kit for the #13 8,000 lb axles. The largest off the shelf Dexter Torflex lift kit we carry is the part # K71-725-02 that you were looking at, but that kit is only designed for tandem axle #12 Torflex axles rated between 5,500 and 7,000 lbs, so it would not fit or safely support your #13 axle setup.

The reason is that the #13 Torflex axles use a much heavier duty bracket design and mounting profile, and Dexter never released a factory engineered lift kit for that size axle. Most shops that lift #13 Torflex systems end up fabricating custom steel spacer brackets that mount between the axle brackets and the trailer frame to gain roughly 2 to 3 inches of additional clearance. That approach can work very well when done properly, but because of the weight involved and the importance of keeping the axle perfectly aligned, it is definitely something I would recommend having done by a qualified trailer fabrication or suspension shop.

Another option, depending on how much additional clearance you need and how much room you have in the wheel wells, is stepping up to a slightly taller tire size. Sometimes that is enough to help with driveway scraping, tank clearance, or bed rail concerns without modifying the suspension itself.

What are you hauling with that 8K axle setup, and where do you usually take the trailer? What size tires do you have on there now?

Hi Ernest, I bought this kit and installed it on my 2015 micro mini trailer. It had the Dexter axels and I had the same problem 2yrs ago. I had to drill some 7/16 holes. I think it was 1 or 2 in each of the 4 brackets.I will try to send some pictures to you. Somewhere in the item description they give the hole locations for the bracket which is helpful. I do remember one hole I drilled broke into the other. It didn't concern me. I have done alot of structural steel in my days. Im going to include my phone # 571-622-9011 .Send me your # if you like and I will give you pictures of the finished product and also the exact ID # of my Dexter axel which will awncer any of your questions. You can also call me with any questions or possible problems if you proceed. Drilling the holes wasn't the easiest. They are like 1/2 inch and the brackets are either 1/4 or 3/8 inch thick. Drill bits for high speed steel aren't cheap. if your biggest concern is getting your trailer up off the ground and money isn't an issue, you could have a machine shop, do the holes for you if you like.
