Will Trailer Drain Battery If Left Hooked Up To Tow Vehicle Overnight
Updated 05/10/2017 | Published 05/08/2017 >
Question:
Is it okay to hook your tow vehicle to power overnight through the trailer
asked by: Loy
Helpful Expert Reply:
Leaving anything hooked up for power will cause a drain on your towing vehicle battery. The 12V accessory line on your trailer connector is designed to maintain a battery on your trailer.
You may want to consider installing a battery on your trailer and use a battery charger like part # CTEK56353 to charge the battery when land power is available. This would make sure your towing vehicle battery stays charged when you need it.
