Question:
Hello. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 with OEM class IV receiver. It is rated at 1200 lb tongue weight. I want to move up to a class V in particular the Curt C15572. Can the OEM receiver be removed and this receiver installed it is place? Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can remove the OEM Class IV receiver from your 2013 Ram 1500. If it is just bolted on then you should be able to do it yourself, but you might have to move a few other things under your Ram depending on how the hitch installs. If it is welded on then you will need to get a professional to cut the welds for you.
The Class V Curt Hitch # C15572 that you referenced will be a great upgrade on your Ram 1500. Just a heads up, there is no drilling required for the installation of this hitch, but you will need to lower or remove your spare tire while you install this hitch.
I have attached a video of our install team installing this hitch on a 2013 Ram 1500 as well.
