Will The ShakeStopper Bumper Hitch MNT72VR Work For Carrying Two Electric Bikes?

Updated 06/30/2026 | Published 06/25/2026

Question:

I have a 2004 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel with an aluminum covered 4inch tube steel rear bumper. Will this work? If not, what other options are there for adding a 2inch receiver for 2 electric bikes?

Hey David, thanks for reaching out. The ShakeStopper Heavy Duty 2" Hitch Receiver for 4" RV Bumpers # MNT72VR can absolutely work for carrying a few electric bikes. The hitch itself has a 400 lb capacity so that will be more than enough. The real limiting factor here is the weight capacity of your bumper. Bumper capacities can vary so you'll want to check with a dealership and verify your bumper can hold the weight. As long as the bumper is up to the task, and you get a good RV rated bike rack you'll be good to go.

Do you already have a bike rack you were planning on using? What kind of bikes do you have?
