Features to know about

Handle Heavy Loads with Confidence: Class IV Strength and 2" Receiver

When you’re hauling serious weight, you want a hitch that can take it. This Curt trailer hitch receiver is rated for 10,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 1,000 lbs maximum tongue weight. Add a weight distribution system and those numbers climb to 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver opening fits the most common towing accessories, whether you’re using a ball mount for trailers or attaching a cargo carrier for extra gear. Its sturdy, square-tube design keeps flex to a minimum when you’re pulling heavier loads.

Built to Last Through Years of Towing: Fully Welded, Powder-Coated Steel

This hitch is built from powder-coated steel for strength and corrosion resistance. The gloss black finish with protective base coat stands up to moisture, grit, and road salt so it won’t rust out after one hard winter. Precision robotic welding gives every joint consistent strength and ensures proper alignment when bolted to the frame. It’s designed to stay solid and dependable through years of towing, not just the first season.

Straightforward Bolt-On Install: No Welding Required

You don’t need a shop lift or special tools to get this hitch in place. The fully welded receiver bolts directly onto the frame—no welding or fabrication needed. It comes complete with all mounting hardware and detailed installation instructions, so you can get it done in the driveway with standard tools. Once it’s bolted up, you’ll have a secure connection ready for towing or mounting racks without cutting or modifying anything on your vehicle.

Good hitch receiver at a great price! Installation was fairly simple, it fit just like it said and there was NO DRILLING REQUIRED!!!! It does take a little longer that the 20 min. that it says it will but everyone is different. I look forward to pulling my camper all over this summer with it! I would recommend this item to anyone looking for an aftermarket hitch receiver for their Chevy Silverado.

Shame on chevy for not putting a hitch on a 4wd v8 smh. Found this hitch for half the price vs the factory hitch from chrvy themselves. Happy with it. Shipped very fast.

by:

Order received faster than expected.
Website
easy to navigate so that I could find and order the right product for my truck.
Bolted right in place as specified.
Overall very happy with my experience.

Quick and easy installation, fit like a glove, definitely recommended!

I just purchased a new 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3 L V6, 8ft bed, base model truck, with no options. The truck is rated to tow a 5900 lbs trailer with a CGVW limit of 11000 lbs. I will be towing a Lance 1985 travel trailer, that weighs in around 4500 lbs wet. With excellent reviews and outstanding installation videos from etrailer.com, I ordered the Curt C14006 class IV hitch; the Tekonsha proportional Prodigy P3 brake controller; the Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter specified for my truck; Cipa custom slip-on towing mirrors; and the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - HM40975 specified for my truck. All new Chevy Silverado 1500's (even the base model with no options) comes from the factory pre-wired with a basic seven wire trailer towing harness already installed. Everything electric just plugged in without a single cut or splice of the wiring or any other wiring modifications. I just followed the instructions in the excellent installation videos on the etrailer.com website. The hitch installed quickly and lined up perfectly with factory bolt holes already on the truck frame, no drilling required. Finally I slipped on the Cipa custom towing mirrors and I was ready to tow after about two hours work. If I would have ordered my truck with a factory tow package, integrated brake controller, and extendable towing mirrors, the options would have run me slightly over $1450 on a new Chevy truck. Instead, I spent two hours of my own time doing the installations and paid about $550 for all the parts by ordering by from etrailer.com. Nice savings. You need to have a good set of socket and open end wrenches, including a torque wrench adjustable to a minimum of 110 ft/lbs for the hitch bolts. Spend some time and review all the installation videos for the parts that you need to order. The etrailer.com website also has downloadable installation instructions provided by the parts manufacturers.

I have towed about 3,000 miles in the last year, everything is working great.

by:

Good item!!

by:

Perfect fit for my 2018 Silverado
Did
not have to remove spare tire or bumper support to install

by:

Bolted up perfectly. Took approximately 30 minutes and that was with removing the old receiver first. Would definitely recommend this product

by:

Easy install. I used a floor jack and a 40 inch 2X4 to make it easy. UPS beat up the box pretty good but you guys did a great job packing so no damage.

by:

Seems like a great product!
Very easy
to install.

The install looks great, Eldon!

by:

Extremely easy install, Every hole lined up and every bolt fit properly. It is rather difficult with one person, but I found a way using a jack and a 4x6 post. I have had this on for a few month now and it has performed exactly how i had hoped.

by:

Very nice hitch installed easily hauls my jet ski perfect behind my Chevy Sonic. Aplus and trailer

by:

Dear etrailer thank you for the awesome service I purchased my connector and my class 5 from you guys the install was easy and now I can haul my ford powerd 545 cubic inch hot rod with confidence. thanks agian

by:

It is all good. I have it almost all installed. Can't wait to pull something with it. Thank you!!

by:

The ordering process was very easy. I received my order a day earlier than the expected delivery date and the hitch fit just like it said it would.
Very pleased with how it looks and how well it tows. Not planning on towing anything bigger than a small 5'x 8' trailer for yard work and it did just that, with ease.

by:

Installed easy and have had it on for over a year and have pulled a 24ft trailer with ease . Great hitch and love it.

by:

The online video was a great walk though for the installation. I didn’t have any help so I rigged a wooden shaft through the receiver then cut a slot that excepted the spare tire winch cable and cranked it up into position. Perfect fit and was a Piece of cake!
Thanks, I will not hesitate to recommend you to anyone needing trailering accessories.

by:

Hitch is awesome. Class 4 may be slight overkill for pulling a pontoon boat, but for a few bucks more might as well upgrade the hitch. Shipping is very fast. Very easy install for anyone that has the proper tools to do the job. Saved over $100 by purchasing from here and installing myself.

by:

The Curt receiver arrived on time and is beautiful! The powder coating on it is exceptional and looks great on my truck. All of the holes for hardware lined up perfectly and it was really simple to install. The instructions gave all of the torque specs for the hardware which made it easy to install as well. If I ever need another receiver for a truck, I will not hesitate to buy this again. etrailer.com was great to work with too. The product shipped quickly, arrived quickly, and everything was smooth and easy. Thanks for a great experience.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado LT extended cab 4 doors.Excellent quality, perfect welds and powder coated. E Trailer warranty.
Fitment is factory quality, very easy to install. Receiver sits about two inches below bumper but not an eye sore.
Sits flush with the bumper when looked from above.
Very happy with quality and ease of install, detailed instructions, diagrams and photos.
Extremely happy with how it performs.
I use it to tow a car trailer, motorcycle trailer and a boats. Customer service is top notch, all questions and concerns answered. Videos are available for the DIY, I definitely recommend E Trailer, customer for life.
Many Thanks.

by:

Most of the installation hardware was missing. When I call the 800 number to get replacement parts kit I was told it would take 7 to 10 working days for the hardware kit to be sent out. Piss poor shipping and customer service!

by:

Product arrived a few days after being ordered. Box had some damage, but no big deal. Everything made it without damage. Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver actually went in pretty easily. Had to persuade a couple of the holes to line up, but nothing to strenuous. Surprised that this unit bolted right over the top of the existing lightweight unit that came with the truck. Overall a pretty easy project and looks like a good strong Hitch Receiver.

by:

The receiver is very heavy duty.
I did
wonder why the stock 6k 600tg had 10 bolts 4 were on the vertical part of the Silverado 1500 truck frame.
I wish the new 10k, 1,000 to had the (4) two vertical mounts to the frame, it's just seems more support with 10 bolts to yhe truck frame than 8 bolts that is what is used on this new curt 10k receiver.
Look at my photos of the 6k vs the 10k receiver.
Of course the 10k received is thicker material.
Note: to anyone that wants to know how easy it is to install.
It took me 1hr with the help of my Motorcycle lift jack.
This would not load my photos.

by:

Perfect fit. Will hookup a trailer with load leveling shorthly and will make my final determination

It has been great. After my first tow I made sure that the receiver was well attached to the truck’s frame. Every thing was fine and the hitch is holding up well.
