Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer with 900 lbs Max Tongue Weight Rating

OK so I have a unique scenario. My travel trailer has a max GVWR of 11,090lbs and max TW of 900lbs, however the dry weight is around 7,400lbs not sure of the unloaded TW. I have a 2002 F250 long box crew cab diesel for a tow rig. Im likely to put some gear in the truck bed, 100 to maybe 200lbs behind the rear axle. I called Curt mfg and they recommended the 17501 hitch because of the 11k GVWR on my camper. I doubt that I will ever load the camper with 3,500lbs of stuff to reach the 11k weight but just in case I gotta have a hitch rated to at least 12k. My only concern is the spring bars on this hitch might be overkill and Im not sure how that will effect ride. What are your thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
You really want to have a good idea what the tongue weight is before picking out a kit so that you get the best setup possible. Based on what you listed most likely the part # RP66084 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs is going to be your best option once you consider the loaded tongue weight. But if you are unsure I would highly recommend determining the tongue weight first. What I really love about the Strait Line series is that it works to fight sway before it starts unlike any other system on the market.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
