Will K-Summit Size K23 Tire Chains Fit 235/40-18 Tires on a 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI

Question:

I drive a 2017 VW GTI. Currently have the stock 225/40-18 tires and the Thule K-Summit is TH02230K23. My question is: When I replace these tires I plan to go to 235/40-18. This size ideally uses a different size K-Summit. Will the K23s fit and stay on the wider tire in use? Thank You.

I checked with Konig the manufacturer and the K23 size K-Summit chains will not fit the 235/40-18 tire size. Instead you would need to use the K33 set. If you don't want to spend the money on a whole new set of K-Summit chains then the option that requires the second least amount of clearance, right behind the K-Summits, are cables such as # TC339DC. I have also linked all of the chain options we have for 235/40-18 tires.
