For your 2002 Subaru Forester, I recommend starting with the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, # 909-9. You may want the RoadMaster Black Receiver Inserts for XL and MXBrackets # RM-200-5, for when you don't have the tow bar installed.
For a tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 6,000 lbs, # RM-501. I also suggest the Roadmaster 64" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables - 8,000 lbs, # RM-645.
For your tow bar lighting, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will give you a 6 way plug at the front of your vehicle that will allow you to utilize all of the features you need from your motorhome's 7-way. This will utilize your factory wiring for a clean look and give you diodes to protect that wiring.
For your braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This will give you the ability to basically set up the system and forget it. It needs adjusting only at initial install and then becomes a plug and play system that is our installation team's favorite.
The last thing you need is a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to assist you in determining the proper part and have linked the page to the options we carry.
