How to Install a Trailer Tail Light with 3 Wires When Trailer Only Has 2 Wires

Question:
I need to replace a rear brake-turn signal light on my 2000 Burro I only have 2 wiresblack-whitehow do I hook up a three wire unit?

The brake lights and turn signals on your 2000 Burro trailer are on the same circuit so the two wires you have are the brake and turn signal on one and running lights for the other. The ground is through the mounting hardware of the light. If you're replacing the lights with a 3-wire light, like part # STL56RB, the white wire is for ground and needs to be connected to a bare surface on the trailer's frame instead of grounding the light through its hardware.
