Easiest way to tell is to watch the lights illuminate. If they come on immediately with basically zero transition between off and on and are almost painful to look at you have LEDs. If you can watch the bulb get brighter and looking at the light doesn't hurt your eyes you would have incandescents.
Also if the bulb is round and has that old school style of wiring in it where there is two vertical wires and a couple horizontal wires that run between them that is incandescent.
For a hitch fit the Draw Tite part # 75648 or Curt # C13201 is a fit for either configuration and would be a great choice as it is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening.
For trailer wiring the part # 118536 would the be the kit to use if you have LEDs and part # 118567 for if you have incandescents.

Why do I have to use the trailer kit that has the battery wire for led tail lights. I am only towing a small trailer that only has tail lights. In the past I have installed the wires with the converter box with battery wire and it burned up in a week and then a second time as well.
