Question:
Hello experts. I have a 2018 Dodge Journey and just setting it up to tow a trailer. Looking at the 4-way harnesses I see there are different ones for LED and incandescents on the vehicle. I am not sure what i have. Is there way to tell? Also please recommend a hitch! Thank you!

The easiest way to determine if you have LED or incandescent lights on your Dodge Journey is to simply watch them illuminate and turn off. If they come on immediately and turn off immediately then they are most likely LEDs. LEDs will also be quite a bit brighter and almost painful to look at directly. If instead you can see a bit of a transition both when coming on and turning off and the light is a bit duller, you have incandescent bulbs.
If you are still unsure I recommend simply visiting a local Dodge dealer with your VIN and they will be able to tell you with certainty what the vehicle is equipped with.
If you find that you do have LEDs I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118536. If you have incandescent bulb tail lights I recommend the Tekonsha # 118567. I like the Tekonsha harnesses over the Curt options also available for your vehicle because of their slightly higher amp ratings and the more secure connection of the converter box to your vehicle.
I have attached the installation details for these harnesses that you can also check out.
Then for a trailer hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Hitch Receiver # 76225 because of its sleek hidden cross-tube design where only the 2 inch receiver is visible behind the vehicle. I have attached an image of this hitch installed on the 2016 Dodge Journey for reference.
I have also attached an installation video that you can follow along with.
