Recommended Way to Measure Trailer Coupler Height for the Proper Ball Mount Rise
Published 08/16/2016 >
Question:
When I use the formula to determine the /rise, I have to measure from the ground up to the top of the hitch. Should I mesure that height with the weight of the loaded trailer tongue or not? Thanks

It will not matter if your trailer is loaded or unloaded when measuring, you will just want the trailer to be level when measuring for the proper rise or drop ball mount. The trailer jack will be supporting the trailer and holding it level regardless of the trailer's load.
The travel in the trailer's suspension will not have a significant impact on the trailer's coupler height.
