Question:
I would like to know if there is any cutting of the oem bumper required in order to fit your trailer hitches?

Expert Reply:
You will not need to cut the OEM bumper for installation of the Curt Trailer Hitch, item # C13103, for the 2008 R350 by Mercedes-Benz. There is some cutting required, but the cut areas are under the vehicle and will not be visible when the hitch is installed. If you have a vehicle with cross bracing member, and in 3 places, if your vehicle does not have the cross-bracing members.
The installation instructions, see link below, show exactly where to cut the plastic trunk pan and explain the rest of the install in detail.
Some items you may need with the Class III hitch are listed below.
Wiring # 119250KIT (Multiplexed Wiring System)
Drawbar # C45010
Pin and Clip # PC3
Hitch Ball # 19260 or # 19247
Stabilizer strap # 18050 -- Curt recommends that all non-trailer loads (bike racks, cargo carriers, etc) should be supported by stabilizing straps like this one.
