I have received my hitch and wiring 56051 for my 2006 civic and cannot locate the connector in the Vehicle for the red and white wires on the drivers side. Greens and yellows are connected.

From the photo you sent it looks like you have a Civic Sedan and the # C56051 trailer wiring harness is not designed to fit a Sedan model. It is designed to fit the Coupe only. We do have a solution for you though.
I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118420 if your Sedan is not the Si or Hybrid model. This plugs into the connection points in the trunk area.
If you have a Sedan and it is an Si or Hybrid model The harnesses we offer have to be hardwired. I recommend part # C59496. This comes with the circuit tester needed to identify the wires by function when installing the harness.
