Recommended 2-Inch Trailer Hitch for 2009 Cadillac SRX

Question:
Will a trailer hitch from a 2011 Cadillac SRX work on a 2009?

Expert Reply:
The 2009 and 2011 model years of the Cadillac SRX are not within the same generation and so their hitch fits are not the same. The 04-09 model years were the first generation, while 2010 and later model years are within the second generation. Links to hitches for both cars are included.
You'll note that both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches are available for both cars. In general we recommend going with the 2-inch option because it will have a higher towing capacity, more safety margin and also be more compatible with accessory items like bike racks and cargo carriers. For the 2009 SRX I suggest the Curt # C13050 for its lower price - it has the same capacity as the other options. An install video is linked for you.
Please feel free to let me know your intended application for the hitch - towing vs. bike rack - and I will be glad to help you with any other needed items or questions.
