I wanted to put on a hitch for my 2016 Rav 4 Hybird, I was told be Toyota tha if I do not use a factory Toyota hitch it would effect my warranty. Is this true also Toyota said they have a hitch however the after factory hitch is waiting for the instalation Manuel to be written the cost for hitch would be about $540 plus install cost. I feel this is only a way to keep me at the Toyota dealer . have you heard of anything like this for after parts

The Curt hitch part # C13149 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and would work well for you. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like a trailer hitch in this case, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. I recommend looking it up online.
If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
For trailer wiring you would want the part # C56350 which I attached an install video for as well.
