I have a 2005 E-350 ford super duty diesel cut away box work truck what type of harness would this take and where would the port be underneath,

If your 2005 Ford E-350 has a factory 7-Way trailer connector, the brake controller harness, # 3035-P, is the correct harness for numerous Tekonsha and Draw-Tite brake controllers. The port will be tucked up under the dash, to the left of the steering column.

If your vehicle has a factory 4-Flat, you will need to add Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185, at the rear of the vehicle. The blue brake wire will need to be routed from the brake controller to the 37185 harness. The wires for the power supply and stop light (black and red on the brake controller) are already run the vehicle and should be tucked up under the dash like explained above. It is possible that you will need to route a 12 volt power wire to the 37185 harness as well. This wire will connect from the back of the harness black wire to the vehicle positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540.

If your vehicle does not have a factory 4 or 7-Way, you will first need to install Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # C56020. i have included a link to the installation details below. You would then need to install 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. The 4-Way will plug into the back of the ETBC7. You would then hardwire the remaining wires. Blue wire to blue wire on brake controller. Black to vehicle battery via 40 amp circuit breaker. White to ground (vehicle frame), and yellow to reverse light wire. On the brake controller, black goes to the vehicle positive battery terminal via a 20 or 30 amp breaker (check installation instructions for which size to use). White goes to negative battery terminal. The remaining red wire attaches to the wire on the brake switch above the brake pedal that carries a signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed.
