  • Wiring Needed to Flat Tow a 2016 Jeep Wrangler
It sounds like you've created your own umbilical to go from the 7-way on your RV to a 7-way on your Jeep. The Hopkins connector # H20043 is 4 feet long, which isn't going to be long enough to bridge the gap of space for flat towing. You're going to need at least 6 foot umbilical. For a 6 foot 7-way molded cable use # H20044. We typically don't see 7-ways on the front of vehicles, for a great 7-way to 6-way umbilical with a 6-way (which is most common) connecter and mounting bracket I...

  • Activating 12 Volt Circuit on 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali
It sounds like the tow package is not fully functional on your 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali which is not uncommon on GM trucks and SUVs. The situation is likely similar to that of a GMC Sierra. I have included a link to the right that explains the connections that you will need to make to make it fully functional. It is possible you just need a fuse in the proper location. But it is also possible that you will need to manually run a wire from the back of the 7-Way to the vehicle battery...

  • Wiring Diagram for 7-Way on a 2008 Chevy Silverado
Yes, we have diagrams for nearly every type of trailer wiring connector available. Check out the link I attached to see them all. Most likely you have a 7-way on your 2008 Chevy Silverado so I attached a picture of a diagram of a 7-way.

  • How to Charge Trailer Battery with 7-Way Connector
The 12 Volt accessory lead on the 6 or 7-way connector can be used to keep the battery on your trailer charged. Run the accessory lead from the trailer connector to the positive battery terminal on the trailer battery, and ground the negative terminal to the trailer frame. Please read and follow all of the battery manufacturers guidelines regarding battery charging. The 12 volt pin of the 7-way is the 1:00 position.

  • Troubleshooting 12V Trailer Power Circuit on 7-Way on 2008 Toyota Tacoma with Factory 7-Way
The first thing I would check is that there is a fuse of the correct value in the Tacoma's power distribution box for any circuits labelled trailer/towing/12V power. It is more likely that a fuse could be missing than that Toyota installed a 7-way but left out the one circuit. However, if this is indeed the case, and there is simply no wire connected to the 7-way for the 12V power pin at the 1-o-clock position (see linked photo, please) then you can use 10-gauge wire # 10-1-1 and a 40-amp...

  • Installation of Power Wire to Brake Controller and 7-Way Connector on Motor Home
The connection you will need to use is most likely the chassis connection in the case of the brake controller. You will want the connection that is hot at all times ran to the brake controller so that the trailer brakes can be operated at any time whether the ignition is on or not. The brake controller should be wired through at least a 20 amp circuit breaker, item # PK54520, and a 30 amp circuit breaker, item # PK54530, if the trailer has more than 4 brakes or the brake controller calls...

  • Trouble Shooting AC And Circuit Breaker Function
The Pollak Circuit Breaker - Cycling/Automatic Reset - 40 Amp # PK54540 is a continuously cycling circuit that will reset itself. The Copper terminal goes to battery and the zinc terminal to accessory. To run a 30 Amp system, you will need a larger circuit breaker or it would trip the breaker each time it started up. A bad circuit breaker may be the issue, but typically an AC unit cannot run off a 12V battery because it simple pulls too much power too quickly. A deep cycle battery...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Controller Connection Error Message in 2008 Silverado
This kind of brake circuit warning can have several causes, from corroded contacts in the truck socket or trailer plug to a damaged wire or even just a wire that might be rubbing on the truck or trailer frame. Since your truck is a couple of years old I would start with the corrosion check. You might want to get a can of aerosol electrical contact cleaner like Caig De-Oxit. To first narrow down the problem to either the trailer or truck, disconnect the trailer plug and apply direct 12V...

  • Troubleshooting No 12V Trailer Power on 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2004 GMC Savana Van
If you are referring to the 12V auxiliary trailer power circuit on a 7-way socket, which is normally carried on the pin at the 1-o-clock position as you look at the vehicle 7-way (see photo please), then you could have a bad circuit breaker on this power feed or there could be a corrosion problem on the socket contacts, or within the wiring that connects to it. For a 40-amp auto-resetting circuit breaker you can use # PK54540. Even slight greenish or whitish discoloration on or inside...

The 12V power circuit on a motor home's 7-Way socket, which is typically protected with a 40-amp circuit breaker like # PK54540, will deliver a maintenance level charge to a connected battery on either a towed vehicle or trailer. However, a depleted battery will NOT get a full charging current from this auxiliary 12V feed and will not fully re-charge. • Capacity of Trailer Connector 12-Volt Trailer Accessory Circuit On 2011 GMC Savana Van
I looked at the fuse diagram for your 2011 GMC Savana, and the fuse capacities weren't listed. Typically, that circuit is protected by a 40A fuse, so it'd be safe to say that the 12-V auxiliary circuit that feeds the 7-way trailer connector would be limited to a 40A capacity. This being said, due to the distance between the alternator and the 7-way and the small gauge of the wire feeding that circuit, using that 12-V accessory circuit to run your DC to DC charger wouldn't be very effective.
