Question:
Hi, Im installing a hitch on my 2015 VW Golf Sport Wagon with the gas engine. Do a need a powered tail light converter if the trailers I occasionally tow are LED lights only, tail lights and running lights which draw very little power? Also I just want to confirm that the C11422 is the correct hitch for a 2015 VW Golf Sport Wagon/gas engine. Thanks

The trailer wiring harness we offer for your 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen is the Curt Harness, part # C59236. This harness is a hardwire installation so I have attached a drawing that shows how it should be installed.
This harness will work with trailer that have either LED or incandescent lights.
The Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11422 is confirmed as a fit for your SportWagen. This is a Class l hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
If you plan on doing some light towing I recommend a ball mount like part # 3593. This ball mount has a 2-1/8 inch rise or 2-3/4 inch drop, and comes with the hitch pin and clip.
If you need a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball I recommend part # 19258.
