Question:
On my 2005 Equinox trailer wiring 31325 kit I sent email stating I had no trailer lights. You suggested 2 possibles problems. In checking I found that there no power going to the converter. Unable to find factory wire or fuse ran a new wire all the way to the converter installing a 30 amp fuse. This give me power to car plug. Yesterday I needed the trailer but I hadnt tried the lights prior. Well I did not have trailer lights. When I got home and unhooked the trailer I plugged in the four flat tester no power at plug. It was raining so I quit for the day. This morning i test for power again this time I have power. I have had the trailer hook to another vechle and trailer lights work ok. Could the converter be weak and not able to work the trailer lights but strong enough to reset and power tester.

It sounds like the converter box of the # 31235 is drawing too much amperage and is shorting out. This box does have pretty low amperage ratings at 2.1 amps per side.
For comparison the Curt harness for your vehicle part # C55560 has a 3 amp per side rating.
Are there a lot of lights on your trailer that could be drawing just too much for the converter?
