I know this adapter slides inside, but is this adapter solid stock, or what is the inside diameter of this adapter Thanks

You are correct, gooseneck trailer to 5th wheel hitch adapter # BD0289640300 is an inner tube only that fits inside the outer tube of the gooseneck coupler. The tube is not solid, it is hollow, and the inner diameter is approximately 3-1/2 inches.
