When you’re towing something with electric brakes or a trailer battery, you need full power and signal capability. This harness gives you a 7-way blade connector that carries brake output, 12-volt charge line, reverse lights, and all the standard lighting functions. It’s ready for setups that go beyond basic lighting so you can tow heavier loads with confidence.
The gray plug connects directly at the back of the vehicle, making it a mostly plug-in setup instead of a full rewire. You get a clean connection point for the trailer wiring without having to cut into the factory harness. It’s a straightforward way to add towing capability without disturbing existing circuits.
The black power wire runs straight to the battery to give the harness a dedicated 12-volt supply. That direct line means steady current for lighting, brakes, or battery charging on your trailer—no dim lights or weak signals when the trailer is loaded up. It’s built to keep voltage solid and dependable.
The blue wire leads up to the front of the vehicle so you can tie in a brake controller when you’re ready. Once connected, it sends brake signal output through the 7-way to control electric trailer brakes. This makes it an easy upgrade path if you plan to tow something that needs more stopping power.
The red wire handles reverse light power if you want backup lamps on your trailer. It’s not required for basic operation, but it’s there when you need it for extra visibility while backing up at night or in tight spaces.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector. Now, this harness has been designed to fit your 2024 and newer Ford Rangers, and on custom-fit parts such as this harness, I do recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer.com. Simply put the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our Fit Guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this is going to let you easily and quickly install a 7-way RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle, and this connector is going to plug directly into your existing tow connector on your truck. The T-connector is going to plug right into your factory port, so you're gonna be able to get a reliable connection.
It's built to integrate like it came from the factory, so no mess, no mistakes or anything like that. Now, this custom T-connector is going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's side rear bumper. And after plugging in the connector, you're gonna route the 7-way end of the harness along the inside of your bumper towards the center of your vehicle. The spring-loaded cover on the seven way plug is going to snap shut when it's not in use, sealing the terminals from the elements. And the included cable ties and all of the hardware and the cabling that you see here, all of that is going to help speed up the installation and keep everything tight and secure.
Now, it is recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical components, and all of your electrical connections rather, and that's gonna help prevent corrosion due to moisture. So, if you are in need of that grease, on your screen, I am including the item number. You can just take that item number, pop it in the search field, that will take you to the grease, and you can add that to your order. That's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you.
Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

I was hoping for a fully pinned connector from Curt but they decided not to make one and created this instead. I took the Curt plug and just pinned the blue, black wires into the plug. I used the OEM connector, it was a 4 pin trailer connector already there. I cut the wires about 6" from the OEM connector, pulled the connecter apart and used those wires and added them to the Curt plug. I now have a full working 7 pin trailer connector.
Does what I says on the tin
Had a professional install the unit on my 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat and it works great. Thank you for the solution to connecting my trailer to my truck's wiring.
