Question:

I have a 2015 Nissan Versa S that I want to tow behind my Winnebago view Motorhome. I have a Blue Ox Aventa tow bar, A Blue Ox Drop down hitch adapter and a Patriot # 2012 Brake control. I need a baseplate for the car and Blue Ox says they dont have on yet. Can I install a road master baseplate on the car and use the Aventa tow bar with it? I want to tow the Versa to Florida shortly. I have the cables and all the accessories that go with the Tow bar.

Yes, to flat tow your 2015 Nissan Versa behind a motorhome you can use Roadmaster Base Plates, # RM-52357-4A, which you reference, along with the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar, part # BX7420. You will also need a RoadMaster Base Plate to Blue Ox and Demco Tow Bars Adapter # RM-033.

Next you will need lights on the Versa. If you will not be towing it frequently then I recommend a magnetic kit like # C-ATL20A. If you will be towing it often I recommend kit # 154-792-118158. I have linked instructions for this kit as well.

I recommend you check your vehicle manufacturer's instructions for the proper procedure(s) to prepare your vehicle for towing. Some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, driveline disconnect or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed. Failure to properly equip the vehicle could cause severe damage to your transmission.
