What colour is the reverse wire on a 2014 Dodge Journey?

If you are installing a 5-, 6-, or 7-Way trailer connector (or a back up camera) on your 2014 Dodge Journey and the trailer either has an electric reverse lock out or reverse lights then the connection to the reverse light circuit on the vehicle will be necessary. But if you are installing a 4-Way or the trailer does not have an electric reverse lockout or backup lights (or you are not installing a camera) then the connection to the reverse light circuit on the vehicle is not required.
In order to find the correct wire you will need to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires behind one of the tail light assemblies. It would be easiest to test the wires directly behind the reverse light bulb if at all possible.
On some vehicles the reverse lights are in the rear hatch or door and access to the backs of the assemblies or bulbs is not easy to get to. Look for the wire bundle that does from the hatch to the body of the vehicle, usually located at the top of the hatch. You should be able to test the wires there and locate the reverse light wire if the reverse lights are indeed in the hatch part of the back of the vehicle.
