This was exactly what we needed. It is very well-made and it sits nicely into the hitch with absolutely no wobble. The only reason I gave it four stars was because of the difficulty in aligning the bolts to attach the spare tire. They are free floating so they can be setup for a variety of tires. But this makes it very difficult to align the bolts and try to tighten at the same time. I solved this by making a paper template of the holes from my spare tire. Then I bought 3 jam nuts and 3 washers to secure the bolts into position before lifting the tire in place. Now that the bolts are secured in the right alignment it will be easy to remove and replace the tire in the future. It would be a very simple thing to add these instructions and supplies to the kit.
Overall fabrication of the carrier appears to be of very high quality; all welds (visually are excellent) as is the powder coating. I have yet to actually install the carrier into the Entegra Qwest's 2 inch receiver, but I will be surprised if the fit is not as it should be (I'll update this review if there are any fitment issue(s). My reason for the 3 star rating is the fact that the carrier's slotted mounting configuration will not accommodate the 6 bolt pattern of a stock Sprinter 3500 wheel. I had to fabricate a plate that would allow affixing the spare tire assembly to mount to the carrier with four INSTEAD of two mounting bolts that the furnished carrier would only accommodate. If I was using this on a wheel that the carrier's "universal" mount would accommodate, I'm sure that this would have been a 5 star rating. However, if you need a mount for a 3500 Sprinter wheel this is NOT recommended.
Very sturdy. Spare tire now accessible at rear of camper. Tightens down beautifully with attachments provided -no movement of rack and tire after installation. My only suggestion would be some method to hold the bolts in place while trying to place the tire on rack. The small retaining washers are worthless. I won’t take the tire off unless needed. It will be easier to remove the rack and tire as one piece for storage or to access the rear storage door when I’m at a campsite.

My only concern about mounting my spare tire on my 15 foot EPro is the additional weight on the back of this small camper. Some feel that added weight might cause swaying on the highway.
Well built, hard to lift 200LB tire and get the carriage bolts to align. The M12 retaining ring would not hold the bolts. Used a ATV jack to make slight lift and wiggle bolts into location. I'm 62 work smarter not harder.

That is pretty ingenious, Kraig! Also, very wise and solid advice.
Works great. Had a receiver welded to side of hitch just for this mount.

That's a great idea, Rich! I also like your spare tier cover :)
It is a nice heavy duty spare tire holder I like the no rattle feature. Only 2 problems. First I figured with my size wheel and bolt pattern I would probably only be able to use 2 bolts to secure it.
The other problem can be a real pain. The bopts that hold the wheel to the mount do not stay in place once you remove the tire from the mount. With my wheel the vertical bolt must be all the way up and the left horizontal bolt must be all the way to the left. It is almost impossible to mount the tire and wheel with both bolts floating all over. What I did to correct the problem is put anotherwasher and jam nut on the 2 bolts and tighten them down so n the correct position prior to putting the wheel on the mount. This way the bolts are always in the correct position
The Spare Tire Mount fits and attaches perfectly with the hitch receiver.
Hitch pin hole is too small. Doesn't fit a 5/8" hitch pin standard on most 2" receivers.

You're absolutely right, Matthew. This carrier has a threaded hole specifically designed for the included anti-rattle pin. Because of the threading, a standard 5/8" hitch pin won't work. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Well built but had to straighten it out, the bend towards the trailer made the tire rub on the back of the 5th wheel trailer.
Got this to move the spare tire from the front storage of our 5th wheel to the rear hitch. So far it works as it should, and time will tell if it holds up.
Installed nicely and easily on the back of my RV. The anti rattle pin & nut are a plus to make it a tighter fit and eliminate some of the noise. Made well and should last a long time.
Good quality and heavy duty. First delivery was when I was out of town and the carrier was sent back to etrailer. I called customer service and they resent it with no extra shipping charge. Thanks again for the great service! I’ll definitely use them again!

Works great. Very sturdy and well made.
Great fast shipping thank you
Excellent product although mounting the tire was a bit of a struggle as the bolts don't stay in place while placing the tire. 2 of us spent 40 minutes but finally got it mounted.
I was excited about this item. But after the install i tried to open my hatch back and found that it doesnt clear the tire carrier. Its an inch to far in. Im sure anyone that ordered this item would have the same problem. Its obvious that the carrier was never modified to correct this issue. It looks great but its useless as it is. I actually have to remove the entire carrier in order to open my rear door.

Depending on how far under the bumper the hitch receiver is, the carrier may or may not extend far enough to be able to open the rear hatch. On this spare tire carrier the hole closest to the upright bar measures 3.75 inches from the center of the hole to the upright. The furthest hole from the upright bar measure 6.25 inches from the center to the upright. You can use a part like part # Y02483 that will swing away from vehicle in order to give clearance to open the hatch.
Built well, but it bounces out of control, have tried several devices that take the slop out of the hitch connection, but all fail, settled on making a second bracket that connects to bumper to make more solid.
The spare tire mount that came with our motorhome was not strong enough to securely hold the heavy spare tire. etrailer recommended the Mount-n- Lock HiLo Hitch receiver and the etrailer Hitch Mounted Spare Carrier and the combination worked out very nice for us. My husband and I are in our mid 70's and we were to do the instillation ourselves with the help the inclosed directions and some online videos. The hardest part was lifting the heavy spare tire onto the carrier.
Works great, but need to use with an anti-rattle device to keep the tire from bouncing around when driving.

Thanks for sharing your feedback David! That is helpful insight.
I was putting this on my side-by-side, a Can-Am Maverick, two things, one the bolt pattern does not fit your product, and the bolts are too big to go through the rim, I don’t know if you make different racks for side-by-side or can ship out different bolts? That would be great. Other than that, it works fantastic.

This is meant for vehicles, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to find some bolts at your local hardware store that would fit. If they are much smaller you may need a spacer or something to keep the nuts and bolts from falling through the holes on the bracket :) As far as a mount meant for ATV's, I don't see that we carry any but I saw plenty available on other site. If you Google it you will find something I'm sure
Both this item and the front mounted hitch worked perfectly, but I don’t use either one because they interfere with the Sprinters safety systems.
Works perfect. Assembly and mounting a snap.

I love all the pics you sent, Jim! Is that on the back of a camper?

I purchased a used class c motorhome with no spare tire setup. It was an easy installation onto the hitch, but very difficult putting the heavy tire on afterwards. I probably should have put the tire on first before placing on the hitch. Almost no movement or shaking, it’s very secure.
Had to drill out the receiver holes with a hole cutter bit because they were not drilled correctly. The holes were not even circular, they looked like a gibbous moon shape. Once I drilled out the holes I mounted the spare tire carrier with ease.
This worked great for adding a spare tire for our new teardrop trailer. I like the fact that the bolt provided holds the jack nice and tight in the bitch receiver. Well made product and great customer service from Paula! Thanks!
Fast shipping! Fit and finish are excellent! Thank you

A year out and one camping season in the books. The spare tire has stayed secure and no issues encountered. We put on a tire cover to protect from the sun. Thankfully we have not needed to use it. But the peace of mind that we can made for less stressful travel.
