Can Spare Tire Carrier Be Added to Dual Hitch Adapter on 2019 Sprinter 3500

Question:

Can we add this spare tire carrier to the dual hitch with one extension set-up shown in the accompanying picture for our 2019 Sprinter 3500 RV? Are there any tongue weight considerations would should take into account?

Hey Richard! The only thing you have to consider is that your particular adapter does reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50%. The adapter itself can handle 400 lbs of tongue weight so it won't have a problem holding the # e98ZR and a spare. As long as you aren't exceeding the reduced capacity of your hitch you're all set. Hey Richard, did you find a solution for adding the spare tire carrier to your dual hitch setup on the Sprinter RV? I'm curious to know if everything worked out with the tongue weight considerations, as it could give others confidence when setting up their hitches.

Working like a charm. I we’ll see if I can figure out how to post a picture. Tongue weight is not a factor while we flat tow our Wrangler, and is well within spec for the alternate arrangement with a short extension plus a bike rack to carry our two e-bikes.
