The device is fine for a light weight application. Device works when it is well tightened. Ubolt is too small in diameter. Device would not inhibit hitch looseness when used on a cargo carrier with weight of 250 lbs.

Not any better. Have scrapped it.

by:

Washers weak. Nuts loosen in use. Frequent tightening deforms the flimsy washers. They aren't stout enough or large enough to completely cover the access holes and withstand the pressure required to secure the nut. Nylon lock nuts would be better than the current washer/lock washer setup.

by:

This stabilizer has really helped with the occasional shifting of the hitch inside of the hitch housing. I use it to secure my camper to my vehicle and it has stopped the bouncing and odd noise. Works very well. Be sure to really snug it up to make it most effective.

Still works great.

by:

I misplaced my first anti rattle hitch stabilizer and i ordered a second one. I highly recommend this product. It is very sturdy. It is easy to install and uninstall. I do not hear any rattle noise when using this product! This is an excellent product.

by:

It is not nearly as heavy duty as other as I have purchased. And the description didn’t give me much to go on. Had I known it was lighter duty I would’ve never purchased it.

by:

Solidly built. Easy install. Stabilizes the carrier on the back of my Travel Trailer. I like that it can be installed without removing the carrier from the receiver.

I have transferred it to a new fifth wheel. It’s still working great. No rattles and it stabilizes the carrier with my generator and e- bike mounted on it thus reducing the bounce load on the hitch.

by:

This stabilizer works great! Once tightened down there's no rattle or movement at all, this is actually my second one ,the first one I had for 5 years or so but I somehow got it crossthreaded and the bolt broke while forcing it back off .I didn't think twice about getting another because they work so well.

by:

Hi, yes, hooked it up and while carrying my motorcycle which weighs 385 lbs no noise what so ever!
I love it!
Thanks so much…

by:

Works well to stop the slop in the hitch attachment. Sorry, I installed it upside down, so the etrailer logo doesn’t show.

by:

This worked extremely well! I had to modify the install because of my hitch/bumper. Even with the nuts down (used some loctite) they didn't budge when pulling a square-drop trailer across back roads in Wyoming Wind River range. In fact, I lost the nut off of the ball hitch and not this stabilizer! Would definitely recommend.

by:

Works pretty good

by:

Be sure this will work on your style of hitch. We have the OEM // factory installed (integrated) tow package on our 2020 Toyota Highlander and we have to install it upside down to make it work. Also, the yellow rubberized part only lasts for 1-2 uses before it is cracked // split and no longer functional.

by:

Not crazy about the yellow (painted it black). It works well, but I did have to tighten it after a 120 mile round-trip with my 5x8 Enclosed trailer fully loaded with audio equipment.

by:

I have a cargo basket on the back of my suv. I liked it but in addition to the rattle it would sway left and right. I use this vehicle daily and this item was the single most important part of the set up. If you don’t get one, your missing out on stable, quiet operation with your hitch receiver. It’s great!

by:

Bought these because of another review stated they would cut down on wobble of a hitch mounted carrier, i have to say i am disappointed in performance for the price but the cheaper ones were out of stock would not recommend

by:

I love the concept of this product, however there is not enough clearance between the bumper and the trailer hitch to use on our 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Unfortunately we will have to continue useing shims to quiet the trailer hitch noise. I rate the product, not the application of it.

by:

This Anti Rattle Hitch Stabilizer was easy to
Install and solved the ball mount rattle noise
problem I was experiencing . The design made
more sense than other products available to
correct ball mount rattle noise .

by:

Doesn't fit Tundra or Tacoma tried to modify it to fit my receiver but to no avail Also does it fir EZ hitch levelers

by:

This is an absolute must for a bike rack. I carry two bikes on the back of my 5th wheel and needed something to minimize rack movement. I Love the simplicity but I love the powder coat finish and vinyl covering.

by:

The product is fine but it barley fit on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler using the Brophy extender, I had to install it upside down and it was still very tight. I didn't think that I was going to be able to put the hitch pin in. I really had to cinch down on the vinyl coating.

by:

Easy to install and definitely stopped the extender and bike rack from moving. Because the built-in receiver on my Jeep JKs Smittybilt bumper has limited space, I had to install the stabilizer upside down and not per the instructions. However, it worked and stopped the sway.

by:

This product is great. I especially recommend it to anyone using their hitch on a unibody construction vehicle. It certainly helped tighten things down which in turn made hauling much quieter.

by:

We pull a trailer with our SUV. It’s pretty noisy with the hitch rattling around in the receiver. This quietened the noise substantially! Great product and well worth the money.

by:

This works well on my Jeep Grand Cherokee with the factory hitch receiver, several other styles required grinding away part of the chain hook plate in order to mount correctly.

by:

A simple design that reduces noise and adds stability. To get proper alignment between my RV and my towed vehicle, I needed 2” of drop. After a few trips, I could feel the movements and hear the noise. Upon installing these anti rattle stabilizers, it was apparent that both issues were resolved.

  • 2022 Toyota Highlander Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a Thule Bike Rack with 1-1/4" Shank
We're glad you found us too, William! I see you've ordered the Curt Hitch # C45CR for your 2022 Toyota Highlander along with the Adapter # e58YR and Anti-Rattle # e99007 - these will work great for your setup! Just note that you'll need an additional hitch pin for the adapter, so if you don't have one, I recommend picking up the etrailer Coupler Lock # e98882 so everything is locked as well. Just wanted to note one thing; Thule doesn't like it when non-Thule adapters are used for their...

Hey Dave, sorry about the confusion! Realistically you can install the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 in either orientation so it's up to you. If you would rather it hold the ball mount down you'd put the plate on the bottom and vice versa.

  • Can I Use The Anti Rattle e99007 With An aluminum Shank?
Hey Matthew, You can absolutely use the # e99007 with an aluminum tongue accessory. Since it is something that installs and is hand tightened down there will not be any issues. You will want to periodically check the nuts to make sure they are tight and adjust accordingly, but this is going to work great for you. What hitch accessory are you using this with?

  • Which Anti-Rattle Clamp Is Best For Electric Bike Rack To Keep It Stable?
Hey there Lisa, hope you're having a great day. So you actually brought up a really good question. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers # e38FV uses a gate that comes down and makes contact with the shank of the bike rack or ball mount, and this will not interfere with the hitch pin that is included in some bike racks, such as with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y88DJ. There are a couple of good anti-rattle options for you, but definitely do not drill a hole into the receiver as it can compromise it. • What Can Help Control the Bouncing and Shaking Seen on Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers
The bouncing and shaking that you saw in the video is the norm on the majority of cargo carriers on the market. The extended location from the hitch causes the carrier to bounce more than a hitch accessory that might sit closer to the vehicle. There are a few products that can help with the bounce. An anti-rattle device, like # e99007 for 2 inch hitches, can help by securing the cargo carrier's hitch shank to the hitch receiver. The bolts will push the shank up tight against the top of...

We here at etrailer usually have different part numbers than the bike rack manufacturer. With the ladder at the middle of your 2022 Grand Design Reflection 341RDS, there is a way to know for sure if the rack does not interfere with the RV Rider when folded up. Hi John! The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer for 2" Hitches - Vinyl Coated Steel # e99007 could be used with weight distribution, but I don't think it's the one I would go for. It works really well for things like bike racks, cargo carrier, and other smaller things, but I would go with something a little more heavy duty if I were doing this. Hey Matt, The Gen-Y Hitch Receiver Hitch Extender # GY89SR would have a tiny bit of play since it's not designed to be anti-rattle. Using a hitch extender like this would also reduce the trailer hitch's capacity by 50% since it's leveraging the tongue weight on the trailer hitch further out then originally intended. I don't have a great answer for you because of the shank style the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV uses. The # TH23JV rack uses an AutoAttach system that does not allow for some adapters to work well. You would need to go with a hitch reducer like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # e58YR, which reduces the hitch size rather than expanding the shank size on the bike rack.
