  • Why is There Only a Class I Trailer Hitch for my 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?
Hello Eric. Congrats on the new 2025 Corolla Hatchback! Yes, the only hitch that I see for the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11567 which is a Class I with a 1 1/4" receiver. I checked the previous years and it looks like they only had a Class I as well. When a vehicle only has a class I available, it's because that vehicle is not supposed to be hauling anything heavier. I would check your owners manual to see what Toyota says the vehicle can handle....

  • Can The e43YR Hitch Adapter Be Used With A Weight Distribution Hitch?
Hello Sherman, thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, no, the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # e43YR cannot be used with a weight distribution (WD) hitch. WD hitches can only be used with 2" hitch receivers that are rated for use with a WD hitch. Your 1-1/4" hitch is not rated for this kind of use. Also, using this kind of adapter effectively decreased your hitches carrying capacity by 50%. Meaning with the adapter in the mix, your hitch would only be able to carry like 100...

  • Recommendation For Carrying a Aventon Level 2 E-Bike Behind a 2013 Scion xB
I do see your Aventon Level 2 bike has a weight of 54lbs. Since you are using the Curt Receiver # C12490 on your 2013 Scion xB and being a 1-1/4" receiver I recommend the Yakima OnRamp # Y28DJ as it can support bikes up to 66lbs each and has a ramp for ease loading. Using an Adapter # e43YR with the Rack # HLY66ZR not only moves it further back causing more of a lever effect on the weight but do remember the extra length is also going to have an effect on the departure angle which means...

  • Can I Use Your etrailer Spare Tire Carrier with an Adapter to Take My 1 1/4" Hitch Receiver to a 2"?
Hello Doug, Congrats on the new Honda CR-V!! What is your new favorite feature? Yes, you can use an adapter like our Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" # e43YR with our etrailer Spare Tire Mount for Hitch - 2" Hitch # e98ZR. With any adapter that goes from a 1 1/4" to 2" it will cut your tongue weight in half. You will need to look at the sticker on your hitch to see what the hitch is rated for, then divide that in half. The # e98ZR is around 20.5 pounds, so you will need to...

  • What is the Shank Part on a Hitch Receiver Cover
The shank would be the piece that you insert into the hitch receiver. So for a hitch cover like the Star Wars Darth Vader Trailer Hitch Cover # PC002282R01, there are 2 different shank options you can place the Darth Vader cover piece on so it will fit whether your vehicle has a 1-1/4" or a 2" square receiver. It looks like you were looking for a light up hitch cover so I recommend checking out the Pilot # CR-007 which is a simple square design that fits a 2" receiver and plugs into a...

  • Which 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Hitch Adapter is Strongest for Use with E-Bike Rack
Hey Pam, so the highest rated 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapters we offer have a 350 lb tongue weight capacity like with the part # e43YR for a straight adapter or the part # e93YR for one with a rise built into the shank. You have to keep in mind that when you use an adapter like this you cut the weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent and since most 1-1/4 inch hitches have a 200 lb (sometimes 350 lb) capacity you would be looking at having around a 100 lb capacity for a rack...

  • Do They Make a 2" Trailer Hitch for a 2023 Hyundai Venue
The only trailer hitch options for a 2023 Hyundai Venue are class I, 1-1/4" like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C57CR which is what I recommend. That said, you can convert this to a 2" hitch using an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # e43YR or part # e93YR. Please note, using said adapter will reduce the hitch capacity by 50%. Unfortunately, the Hyundai Venue is a subcompact so they don't make the larger hitch size for this as the vehicle can't benefit from...

  • Availability of 1-1/4" to 2" Adapter With Anti-Rattle for Bike Rack
Hey Robert! An anti-rattle hitch pin won't work since none of the adapters will be threaded and, as you already found out, they don't have a hollow shank. What you can use instead is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches # RM-061-125 along with a locking hitch pin # TS57VR. This combination will allow you to secure it with a lock and cut out the extra play from the adapter and a bike rack. • Availability Of Adapter To Go From 1-1/4" Hitch To A 2" Hitch
We do have an adapter that will allow you to attach a 2" cargo carrier to the 1-1/4" hitch on your 2016 Nissan Altima. I recommend the adapter # e43YR. This is 6-1/2" long and will go in to your 1-1/4" hitch and give you a 2" receiver on the other end. It is important to note that when using an adapter, you will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50 percent. So if your trailer hitch is rated for 200 lbs tongue weight, you will only be able to carry 100 lbs. This will include the weight...

If you are wanting to use your 2" bike rack you will want to install the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7301 on your 2016 Mazda 6. Both the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # e43YR which will fit the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11356 and Hitch Adapter # HTAD reduce the capacity of the receiver by 50%. This will reduce the tongue weight from 200lbs to 100lbs by using the adapter and will likely push your bike rack with any bikes over the 100lb limit. By using the EcoHitch...

  • Is There a 2" Trailer Hitch for a 2016 Honda Civic Sedan
I do have an option for you but there are not any class III, 2" trailer hitches for a 2016 Honda Civic. There are only class 1, 1-1/4" options like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11604 which is what I recommend using. That said, you can use an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" part # e43YR or part # e93YR but just keep in mind, they reduce capacity so you're now limited to 100 lbs for the bikes and rack.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12009 class II receiver is our only custom fit receiver for your 1995 Buick Roadmaster. There are a couple ways you can get to a 2" opening receiver. First would be to use an Adapter # e43YR but this will lower your towing capacity and tongue weight by 50%. Second would be to use a Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13701. This may require some customizing on your Buick as it is a universal style receiver. Finally you can take the Receiver #...

The stop prevents class II accessories like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # e43YR from being used. It has a measurement of 2" from the receiver pin center hole to the end of the receiver tube. • Using a 2" Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack With a 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver
I do have a recommendation for you as Thule only offers the Replacement 1-1/4" Hitch and Backbone Assembly # 753370902 for changing your Thule T2 Classic 2" to a 1-1/4". You can use either a Straight Adapter # e43YR or Rise Adapter # HT5R to adapt your 1-1/4" hitch to carry the 2" bike rack.
