Question:
2023 Mazda CX 30 Your hitch is 1.25, my 2 bike Kuat bike rack is 2 inch. Which adapter would you recommend ?

Expert Reply:
You may not be able to use an Adapter # e43YR with your Kuat bike rack and the Curt trailer Hitch Receiver # C49CR on your 2023 Mazda CX-30. Since the receiver is rated for 200lbs of tongue weight and the use of an adapter lowers the receiver capacity by 50%. So with the receiver only being able to then support 100lbs, the Adapter # e43YR weighing 6lbs and the Kuat Bike Rack # BA22B weighing 52lbs it leaves you with only 42lbs for your bikes.
You may need to switch to their Transfer Bike Rack # KU74FR which will fit either a 1-1/4" or 2" receiver. With not needing the adapter you will not have to reduce the capacity for the receiver.
