Question:
Which of your 1 1/4 to 2 adapters would be the sturdiest for an e-bike rack for 1 e-bike possibly 2 in the future? Are the ones with the rise as sturdy as the others and do they keep the bikes closer to the vehicle?

Hey Pam, so the highest rated 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapters we offer have a 350 lb tongue weight capacity like with the part # e43YR for a straight adapter or the part # e93YR for one with a rise built into the shank. You have to keep in mind that when you use an adapter like this you cut the weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent and since most 1-1/4 inch hitches have a 200 lb (sometimes 350 lb) capacity you would be looking at having around a 100 lb capacity for a rack and e-bike.
Since e-bikes are typically pretty heavy there's chance this just wouldn't work for you but if your hitch had a 350 lb capacity the odds are better.
Best solution would be a e-bike rack that is directly compatible with 1-1/4 inch hitches like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that there’s no solution for 200 pounds or less of tongue weight for sedans! I have a 6cyl, 3.5l 2010 Toyota Camry and all I want to do is put my ebike on it. It’s more than capable of carrying that load, most sedans can, yet no one has come up with a solution. There is NO bike rack for 1 1/4” hitch that solidly supports an ebike. Stop misleading people and tell them the truth, there’s is no option from your company and they need a new bike or a new car.

Unfortunately I already purchased a Yakima bike rack from you guys so I can't really purchase another. The tongue weight for my hitch is apparently 100 lbs., so it looks like I'm out of luck completely.
