QH Dims

Nearly every hitch setup suffers from a bit of slip. This free play between your trailer hitch receiver and your hitch-mounted accessory is completely normal, but it's also completely preventable. By adding the Quiet Hitch to your setup, you can stabilize your hitch-mounted accessory as it sits in the receiver to eliminate rattle, sway, and all that extra play.

USE W ACCESSORIES - BAR ON TOP

Just slip the Quiet Hitch over your drawbar or other accessory. When you slide the accessory into the hitch receiver, position the U-bolt around the collar on the bottom of your hitch receiver. Then place the bar on top of the accessory shank and tighten the nuts onto the U-bolt. As you tighten the Quiet Hitch, the shank of your accessory will be pulled down towards the bottom of the receiver opening, thus securing it in place within the tube.

The combination of a Swagman XCT2 bike rack and a curt 1 1/4” receiver produced a bit of a side to side wobble when under way. The Roadmaster Quiet Hitch alleviated this problem. Sturdy product. I torqued the nuts as specified and have had no issues after a dozen trips. I check them as part of my pre-trip routine. Vehicle is garaged so I can’t comment on how it holds up to the weather. A nice solution to the wobble problem. 728612

Love it! I am not sure how you would use it, but I turned it upside down to stabilize a bike rack. Can't do that with a heavier load, but this way it helps elevate the rack so I don't scrape when backing out of the driveway. Still, I wish this product didn't rust. Only had it a year! 872089

This part installed in less than 5 minutes and it does exactly what it says. I'm using this on a 1 1/4" hitch with a bike rack attached. It's very stable now and no noise/rattling. 810073

The Quiet Hitch should be mandatory if you put anything in the hitch receiver. It eliminates rattling and clunking noises. Service from eTrailer was prompt..service from USPS was not but that is nothing over which eTrailer has control. 858298

On the plus side, this is easy to install and does a good job reducing some amount of movement from the hitch. On the down side, it still leaves quite a bit of lateral wobble. So far, I haven't really found anything better, so maybe this is all I can hope for. 848391

I prefer Blue Ox products, but they don't make one in the size I need. This product here is going to get a good test in the next few days, but a) it's well built and b) it fits well on the hitch/receiver system I had to install on my Honda Crosstour (which really isn't designed well for any hitch assembly made. Regardless, I got good service from Stacey A. and I'm glad to be an e-trailer customer. 847742

After one year: this product is great and I would buy again. Simple, inexpensive, does the job perfectly. I use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts, just to be sure. 828521

I didn't work with my adapter as it requires a lip to secure around. My draw tight 1 1/4" didn't have one so this thing is useless. 815499

Bought two of these, one for me, one for my Brother. We both constantly use them. They work, plain and simple. They quiet the rattle at the receiver hitch. Neither of us has had a negative issue. Instructions call for the use of a torque wrench on all four nuts. Use one. Neither of us have experienced bolt stretch or loose fasteners. Excellent product. 809206

It has been THE SOLUTION for my first problem I was figuring before a road trip in western Canada (20 000 km) with my VR. The hitch was supporting a spear tire and no left and right balancing occurred during the trip. I recommande this simple solution to any situation. 798480

After owning this for a year, I am 110% satisfied with it. It has stopped the mind bending rattle of the receiver ! I highly recommend this product. Works as described and WILL stop the rattle. Thx! 784292

does an ok job, but be super careful if your vehicle has low clearance and you attempt a driveway that is abruptly steep from the road. Any upward bump to the bike rack (or whatever is back there) will bend this thing quickly. Not it's fault, just a warning. That said, thicker metal would be better. 777857

  • Anti-rattle Device for 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch Recessed Inside of Bumper
You could use Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125 upside down but I don't think it is going to fit based on your pictures. Something smaller like Item # F-315 that goes into the shank of the accessory you are inserting into the hitch will likely fit better but will not worth with accessories that have a solid shank. If you need a draw bar with an anti-rattle solution check out Brophy's Anti-Rattle Drawbar, 1-1/4" Hitch, 5-1/2" Rise / 6" Drop, 7-1/4" L, 3.5K Item # BR39FR

  • Solution for Stabilizing Hitch Connection with Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack
The Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # NV12G does have an integrated anti-rattle wedge that deploys from the shank when tightening the knob but you can certainly add an additional device for even more stability at this connection. For this I recommend taking a look at the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125. This is designed for 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers and works to eliminate that rattle and movement by sliding over the bike rack's shank and hooking the U-bolt around the collar of the...

The Roadmaster Quiet hitch would be a great choice. You might actually need two of the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch Anti-Rattle Devices. To reduce the rattle and wobble on your hitch when you are using your bike rack we have a couple options you can check out. First, if your trailer hitch has a lip on the end of the receiver I recommend the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, part # RM-061-125. I have attached a photo of this adapter installed on a trailer hitch you can take a look at. Another adapter you can use with your 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch is the No-Rattle, part # 63090. There is a version of the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for a 1-1/4 inch hitch. For that you would want the part # RM-061-125 instead of the # RM-061. For a lightweight wheelchair you would want to use a cargo carrier like the part # C18145 as the bike rack part # VME-V2 can only be safely used to transport bikes. To secure the wheelchair you could use the stretchable cargo net part # C18200.

  • Recommendation To Solve Movement Of Hitch Mounted Bike Rack With Threaded Pin
Some factory hitches have more of a tolerance that is accepted than aftermarket parts. You may have some additional sag due to this, but being able to lift the rack several inches seems excessive. The receiver should not be 1-1/2 inches, and the 1-1/4 inch shank should fit snug once you've tightened the threaded bolt. My recommendation is to use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches # RM-061-125. This will immobilize your hitch and take that slack that could cause...
