One year later and I haven't had to touch this system even once. It just works, all the time, every time. Very happy with this kit. Works perfectly in my 2019 Toad (Jeep Cherokee).

Its been a year and to be honest, I never have to think about my tow setup. Its there, it works perfect like the day I got it. I cant recommend this any higher. Smooth towing without worrying about it.

This product worked exactly as described. Some things to be aware of.
1. It's a yellow dichromate plated solenoid. Not plastic grey. Nice
2. The video for the 2018 Cherokee shows a 4 bolt brake booster. 2019 Cherokee has a 5 bolt brake booster that has a black plastic frame. Use the same bolt location in the video and it works great. You'll need a deep socket and extension. 13mm.
3. PUT the solenoid on BEFORE attaching bracket. If for some reason you forget, Have someone depress brake pedal and then there's plenty of room to install.

The product showed up at the time I was told it would. I installed it and it fit well and seems to be functioning as it should. I have a couple connections to finish and than OPS check. I used this switch instead of looking for a hot brake wire for my brake controller. No one wanted to touch my Jeep to wire the brake controller in as it did not come with a factory hitch and wiring, and that included the dealer! So I added this switch and now there is no need to do anything with the factory wiring! That eliminates the computer on the Jeep from thinking it has a problem from hooking up something extra it was not expecting.

The system was not difficult to install. It works well. I have a monitor in the cab of our motorhome to see that the brakes activate when they should. The system has worked flawlessly for over a year. The only issue I have is when I forget to turn the system off during normal driving. The system brakes over my braking and is sort of aggressive. That is my fault though. I would recommend this system to anyone who was considering towing a car behind their motor home.

If you are unable to locate the correct terminal on your 2016 GMC Terrain's BCM to connect the brake controller red wire to, I recommend testing the brake switch wires beneath the brake pedal with a circuit tester like # PTW2993.
