Today we'll be taking a look at the replacement operator mechanism for the Maxxair MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe roof vents. This is going to be a direct replacement from Maxxair for that crucial component to actually open up your vent or fan. You can see when I turn this small portion that little hex portion turns. So that's what's going to open or close our vent and provide us with good circulation inside our RV or camper. This is a fit for the Maxxair MaxxFan Plus part number MA00-04500K or the Maxxair Deluxe MA00-070003 or MA00-0700K. That's for the powered lift roof vent.It doesn't come with any other hardware.

It just comes with the mechanism and then this small bushing to go over that portion there. It will reuse the same hardware to attach this in place. It'll get you back to working with your vent. If you need any other replacement parts for your Maxxair fan, check out etrailer.com for more replacement parts. That's going to do it for our look at the replacement operator mechanism for the Maxxair MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe roof vents..

Exact part. Easy parts look up and checkout. Communication from e-trailer on order and shipping status, part arrived early.
Easy to follow direction booklet included. 10 minute installation and 10 minutes of cleaning Maxxair blades, rain sensor, vent cover, shroud and Maxxair hood. In addition I used a seal cleaner and conditioner to renew vent cover seal. Vent cover was sticking before which may have led to part failure.
Vent works just like new!

Pictures show broken part and new part.

Thank you to all staff at etrailer for your efficiency in getting parts to customers.

I use the max air 6 months of the year at least 3 times per day depending on weather maybe more. Replacement part has functioned properly. I inspected part after 6 months of use, no cracks or visible wear and no out of the ordinary sound when operated.

by:

etrailer is great. They almost always have what I need. Their representative, the person that asked me to do this review, is very efficient at his job and checked with me to see it I had any questions regarding installation of the part. He gets 5 stars from me.
But I give 3 stars overall because IMO this part is too expensive. I needed it to replace a defective one in my also over priced MaxFan Deluxe RV vent fan. They are designed and made to fail with inferior materials. If it’s for a RV except to pay around 60% more than it should cost. Have a nice day.

Product received timely. My MaxxFan works again!

Still flawless and fully functional.

This replacement part installed easily. However, the lid does not open fully as it should. Either the instructions are missing a step or I’m not mechanically inclined enough to make the proper adjustments. The fan functions properly so overall it’s fine.

Hey Jim! Would you be able to email me some photos or even a short video of what you're dealing with with this fan? That would help a ton in trying to figure out what might be going on :)

by:

This did the trick to breathe new life into my MaxxAir fan.

by:

It’s a perfect replacement part. Very easy to do yourself.

by:

I’ve not installed these yet so no feedback on the product but the service has been excellent from ordering to shipping. Highly recommend etrailer!

by:

After buying my rv, the old maxxair operating gear blew up. The “new” replacement I purchased from trailer is still working great and came with specific instructions for the installation.

by:

Shipped quickly and got my MaxxAir Fan working properly again. Install was pretty easy, Just need a phillips screwdriver and some patience. Took me a few tries to get the range of motion properly set. Hopefully the replacement lasts longer than the original lasted (18 months).

The regulator is still working great, I ordered an second one to have on hand as a spare. MaxxAir was no help with warranty, but I got what I needed from etrailer.com.

by:

My MaxFan is an older model of the 7500 fax, camper 2011 forest river Blueridge. The operator was slightly different from the original that was broken, the original did not use the vertical mounting screws to hold it down. It used the horizontal screw holes to mount to an L shaped bracket that screwed to the fan housing. I had to add some small washers and elongate the screw holes on the L shaped bracket to make it work, but besides that the part works great and my lid will now open and close. Not an exact fit but it now works!!

by:

This part was a perfect replacement for the factory one that "exploded". Simple, clear instructions were included and the hardest part was climbing the ladder to the camper roof. Shipping was great with the tracking options, and it actually arrived two days early.

by:

I got my part in a timely manner! The replacement piece is what i need to fix my camper! Give etrailer a chance to get what you need!

Easy to order and parts fit perfect

the parts were easy to replace and have been working good since

by:

Perfect replacement for the original that basically blew up after 6 years and the vent could not open/close except by manual effort. All work done on the roof with manual open/close from inside. Worked perfectly 1st time, and 1 year later. A lot cheaper and easier than replacing the entire unit.

by:

Here I thought I would have to purchase the entire vent system for hundreds but spoke to your tech team and they sent me the 40 dollar part that took all of 5 min to install. Its working perfectly. Thanks

by:

Worked perfect. Was the exact replacement part.

by:

Perfect fit. Fan finally works after a year!! Thanks E-trailer. I'll check with your website first for future items!

by:

Exact replacement for our Maxxfan. Easy fix.

by:

Product was shipped then delivered without issue and on time.

Removal of the defective actuator was very simple as was the installation of the replacement. The instructions provided are accurate and detailed but better photos could be provided. My original actuator had exploded so I couldn’t use it for reference when installing the new one. Removal and installation took about 30-45 minutes including cleaning the fan area and the vent lid.

My issue was synchronizing the actuator with the opening/closing of the vent lid. First of all, note the position of the lift rod arms. Upon installaon you’ll want to position the rod so the arms are at the same height as when it was removed. If your existing actuator still functions, when it’s removed rotate the motor/knob connecting rod one way or the other and note when it comes to a stop. Rotate the new actuator to match the position of the old component when it was removed. As my old actuator was in pieces, I had to make repeated attempts to get properly position the opening and closing of the vent lid. This took another 30 minutes or so.

In the end, the new component functions perfectly and the lid raises and lowers to its proper positions.

Greg's service on this order was fantastic! This part, which was on national backorder, was needed to replace a defective OEM version in my realitively new motorhome. Order was shipped and received promptly. Order many items from etrailer, will continue to use as a high quality supplier of RV parts and accessaries.

by:

Super easy to change. Direct replacement works great took about 10 mins and working like new.

by:

Perfect fit

by:

Seems better built than the original. Time will tell how it holds up. There is quite alot of pressure on the mechanism. easily replaced the original.

  • Troubleshooting MaxxAir Vent Powered Lid that Won't Open
I've attached the owners manual for your 4900K model which is similar to the # MA00-04500K model. It sounds like your operator mechanism is bad according to my tech contact at MaxxAir. For your 4900K model you will want the Replacement Operator Mechanism for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents # MA10-20281K-1AF. If you can't even manually lift the lid, this mechanism is definitely the issue.

We do not carry an exact replacement unit for the MaxxAir Deluxe 8951K. We have the Smoke # MA00-07500K or White # MA00-07000K which would be the closest replacement. • What Causes MaxxAir Maxx Fan Lid Not to Open or Close
The two most likely causes of a MaxxAir vent fan lid not opening or closing are either going to be a lift motor or operator failure. I recommend removing the motor and applying power directly to this to see if the shaft turns. If not, you know the motor is bad and needs to be replaced for which we have the Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent part # MA10-20270. • Troubleshooting MaxxFan RV Roof Vent Lid that Doesn't Want to Open
Hey Patricia, it shouldn't be that difficult to open the lid so I would look for something that's possibly interfering or a damaged component. Does the knob just turn or does it not want to move either? The operator mechanism part # MA10-20281K-1AF is what is responsible for lifting the lid so there's a really good chance that is the issue.
