Troubleshooting MaxxFan RV Roof Vent Lid that Doesn't Want to Open
Updated 05/28/2025 | Published 05/24/2025 >
Question:
We cannot open our MaxxAir vent fan lid - even by moderate manual effort and force from inside by pushing upward OR by the rotator knob after removing the screen of course. Are we merely not applying enough brute force or is there a foot trickfoot to opening the lid manually? It is a MaxxFan 7000 deluxe series fan. Thanks for any tips.

Hey Patricia, it shouldn't be that difficult to open the lid so I would look for something that's possibly interfering or a damaged component. Does the knob just turn or does it not want to move either? The operator mechanism part # MA10-20281K-1AF is what is responsible for lifting the lid so there's a really good chance that is the issue.

The knob doesn't budge as I mentioned. Used some real hand strength and no joy! It's STUCK. How can I access the unit to assess what is the real problem, as I cannot open/lift the lid? Thanks very much!
