Note: Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.

Stromberg Carlson's landing gear was designed with safety in mind. The motor, manufactured by Lippert, won't trip circuits or cause problems with the coach's electrical systems. In addition, the IP-rated switch will not spark, so it can be mounted safely in the bottle-gas area.

Convenience is also a hallmark of this product. An inner drop leg on each jack makes leveling easy by allowing the jack feet to reach the ground quickly and at varying heights, saving time and thus reducing the draw on the trailer's battery. The cage pins that secure the drop legs can be replaced with spring-loaded pull pins (LG-119113 - sold separately) that allow for single-handed operation. Large, rectangular, pivoting footpads are included, but you can use larger, 9-inch-diameter pads (LG-210475 - sold separately) instead if you often camp on soft ground.

This system and its parts were designed to be compatible with most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.

  • Stromberg Carlson Landing Recommendation to Replace Damaged RBW Landing Gear
Our understanding here is that AL-KO manufactured the RBW jacks and that they stopped offering replacement parts for their landing gear. It looks like your best option would be to replace your current landing gear with the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear # LG-1 that you referenced.

  • Landing Gear Replacement Recommendation for 1997 Fleetwood 5th Wheel w/ RBW Landing Gear
Since your landing gear is made by RBW none of the setups we offer are going to allow you to reuse your motor. The dimension of 15-1/2 inches between the brackets on your landing gear means nearly every landing gear set is going to fit your trailer as that is the standard dimension. For a powered Lippert landing gear that would bolt right up we have the part # LG-1 or for the manual crank we have the part # LG-183708.

  • Replacement Landing Gear for 2008 Jayco Eagle Fifth Wheel with Atwood Legs
Since Atwood is no longer around and we can't get their replacement lead and follow jacks your best option will be to replace the entire landing gear set like with the similar # LG-1 for a powered set or part # LG-183708 for a manual set. These kits will install with the same brackets as what your trailer has currently so it will be an easy install.

  • Replacement Landing Gear for Atwood Set that is on 1998 Jayco
Hey Brian, I would recommend just starting totally over with a new landing gear set like the Stromberg Carlson part # LG-1. At one point there was some confusion on whether or not the Atwood landing gear components were interchangeable with the other brands like Lippert, LCI, Venture, Stromberg etc. so while your old motor MIGHT work there's a big enough risk it wouldn't that I wouldn't go that route. This also gives you all new components so wouldn't have to worry about having to replace...

  • Troubleshooting 5th Wheel Landing Gear That Retracts But Wont Extend
It could be some internal parts but it could also be the electrical system itself. The easiest way to know if the internal parts are the issue or not is to use the manual override to see if it will extend and retract without any electricity. If it does then you'll want to check your electrical connections but if it doesn't then it's something internal and you'll need to take the jack apart to see what needs to be replaced. Should you decide to replace your landing gear I recommend checking...

  • What is the Distance Between Weld Stops on Stromberg-Carlson Landing Gear Set LG-1
The weld stops on the legs of Stromberg-Carlson landing gear set # LG-1 are indeed 17-1/2 inches measured from the top of the top one to the bottom of the bottom one. If you look at the diagram I have included you will see that they have measured from the top of one to the top of the other and that is 16-1/2 inches. Since the weld stops are 1 inch tall the measurement is 17-1/2 inches just like what you need!

  • Availability of Replacement Lead Jack and Parts for Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Landing Gear # LG-1
The jack with the motor is referred to as the lead jack, while the other jack is called the follower. Since the jack on the motor side is in need of replacement, you would need the lead jack. The lead jack is not terribly difficult to replace. You would need to disconnect the drive rod that connects the two legs, remove the lead jack, install the replacement lead jack, and pull the motor and gearbox off the defective jack and install on the replacement. • Info Needed to Replace Landing Gear of Older Camper
So there isn't a way to look up replacement landing gear by the VIN of the trailer or by the year/make/model. Best option would be to find a brand or part number if you can on them and we can go from there to see if there's a set that will bolt right up. Worst case scenario you could have a new set of brackets welded and you'd could install a set like the part # LG-1.

  • Troubleshooting Landing Gear Issue On 2008 Weekend Warrior LED 3505
It does sound like you have isolated the issue indirectly. If you can move everything manually without issue, then the screws in the legs are fine. The gearbox works fine under manual load, so gears are fine, and motor seems to work fine, so the issue most likely isn't your landing gear. The issue could be a weak battery. I recommend testing your battery to make sure it is charged. The 3:1 ratio is standard on landing gear but you can upgrade the motor speed for faster lift using...
